I can't wait to get home from work and check it out without the boxes in the way. I chose and engineered product called Big River Spotted Gum. http://bigrivergroup.com.au/wordpress/w ... ochure.pdf It's made by an Australian company. I did a lot of research and compared various products. I could have chosen traditional timber planks with a narrower profile for the same price, but I actually preferred both the look and spec of the engineered board. The product is stocked in Perth at a place called BJs Flooring, however I used Touch of Class flooring to source and install them for $160 per square metre. This is for the Ultracote which is pre-finished at the factory with a matte satin finish. I opted for the direct stick method of installation. Happy to answer any other questions! I have some sh1tty phone photos which I will upload shortly, but first I feel the need to share with you another gem from Redink Homes. Now that the inside of the house is mostly done, I've declared it a tradesmen-free zone! As the driveway is being completed, they can pillage my brother's house which is freshly handed-over. I'm quite relieved that no one will scratch my floors or assault my poor toilets any longer. Speaking of which, I couldn't handle the skid marks that were left behind, so my beautiful mother took it upon herself to clean the bathrooms as I watched on in horror. In comes mother with half a bucket of steamy hot water and disinfectant. Much to our surprise and dismay, the water did not drain... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So, I promptly sent an email to Redink. It was succinct, described the issue and asked whether or not I was at liberty to contact the Redink plumbers myself. This is the response I received this morning: "Thank you for your email. These floor wastes are not designed to drain this amount of water, particularly soapy water that will continue to bubble up. The purpose of the floor waste is if the toilet tap or cistern were to leak, this excess water would then drain away through the waste. These floor wastes are not connected to any sewerage pipes and are only run to a soak away. We are therefore unable to assist further with this situation." I've never heard such bullsh1t in my life. The fact that 0 water was draining away is a problem in my book. My father is a damn plumber. He assures me that a cistern leak can definitely produce that volume of water. It's f'ed in my opinion. We also observed that the water in the ensuite drains AWAY from the the floor waste. That's sick guys, well done. You effing morons. I wonder what the excuse will be for that. "Oh I'm sorry, we don't design water to drain away. Floor wastes are for aesthetic reasons only". Give me a break. The worst part is, during my PCI meeting I told my supervisor I wanted to get a bucket and check all the drains. I didn't have a bucket handy and he was rushing me. He said they have been checked. He rolled his eyes and said "are you REALLY going to get a bucket? They're fine". Through the power of hindsight I have seen the error in my ways. The supervisor is a d1ck who was just trying to get in and out as soon as possible. I should have never allowed myself to be talked down. After handover, I have discovered so many little issues. It never ends. I'm angry at redink. I'm angry at myself. In fact I'm just an angry person. Luckily I have pretty floors to ease the pain. I noticed heaps of stuff when I moved in . From grout falling out . I still have a viewing panel that needs to re plastered . I gave up on that panel and now am waiting on my 7 mon check . The grout issue I never gave up on and I kicked and screamed and eventually redink aaw the light . Dont give up thats what they wont . I know how you feel it makes you hate life . Its horrible . It was much easier when things went wrong during building .than to be moved in and have to deal with sh×t . It kinda gets better coz you just get used to getting frustrated . But dont give up . Re: PR's Build - Another gem from Redink Homes... 1295Dec 18, 2014 11:46 am It is clear from that photo that the falls in the floor tiling are wrong - they aren't falling to the drain... it wouldn't matter what kind of water or how much water its not going to drain away if it runs into the corner and not into the drain. So annoying and very frustrating!! We checked the showers drained corrected but we didn't think to check the general floor wastes... oops My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: PR's Build - Another gem from Redink Homes...
