We still have no resolution about the driveway. I finish work for two weeks this Thursday at which point I'll be able to concentrate on getting my money back. I will more than likely be filing a claim through the magistrates court. Getting advice from my lawyer friend! Shame it has come to this, but there is little option now. In other news, my Fiance and I spent our first night in the new home last night! It's still a shell of a house, but we couldn't wait! I've been very busy. Since I last posted we have had electrical work done, completed the paving, completed the deck, had the carpets laid and installed the retic. Turf will go down tomorrow (or maybe even today). Floorboards start this morning and will be finished by Wednesday. Lifestyle wardrobes are fitting our three built-in robes and master walk-in robe on Wednesday too. I cannot wait for that! On Thursday, the house will be officially 'done'. Of course there are still garden beds to fill with plants and the front wall to build, but we've pushed that into 2015. It's been a hard slog. My body aches and I'm pretty sunburnt. My fault for thinking my Mediterranean skin won't burn after a day in the sun. It most definitely will! I'm not made for manual labour! When things look a bit more finished, I'll take some photos. It's looking pretty spiffy so far (even if I do say so myself haha). Hope everyone is keeping well Re: PR's Build - Moved in (kind of)! 1270Dec 15, 2014 11:53 am Sorry to read about all your dramas Pan with this absolute joker of a tradie! Really hope you get all your money back that you deserve quick smart! Congratulations on spending your first night in your new home! How exciting will be fantastic having 2 weeks off work and really settling in! Can't wait to see pics Re: PR's Build - Moved in (kind of)! 1272Dec 15, 2014 1:04 pm Glad you got a lawyer friend to explain the magistrates court stuff...wish we got legal advice before we started! The guy that owes us money is paying $25/week for 5 years.......yep...5 years to get our money back. He's always late with payments too. The court fees add up quick but gets added to what they owe you. Re: PR's Build - Moved in (kind of)! 1273Dec 15, 2014 6:15 pm How exciting that you slept in the house finally! I'm sure you're totally shattered, will be nice, hopefully, to have the 2 weeks off and actually enjoy the new house and the finishing touches. Major bummer about the stupid driveway guy, but sounds like everything else is going well. Can't wait to see your wardrobe fitouts.
