Re: PR's Build - Electrical Work Quote, $3750 for 22 downlig 1256Dec 08, 2014 1:41 pm Our downlight install was roughly $30 per hole but we ended up with a douche bag who stepped on our ceiling and then wanted more money than what he quoted?! So yeah not recommending him....found an awesome electrician based from ellenbrook if u r NOR that we have used a few times since moving in who is reasonable. Re: PR's Build - Electrical Work Quote, $3750 for 22 downlig 1257Dec 08, 2014 2:08 pm Those are redink prices pan. Will PM a team of electricians that are great Re: PR's Build - Electrical Work Quote, $3750 for 22 downlig 1258Dec 08, 2014 2:23 pm I dunno... I've had two quotes both fairly close to each other - $2100 and $2500 for OUTSIDE Change over 12 x existing battern fittings with new external light fittings. Install 4 x fans(customer supplied) to bedrooms. Installation to include, timber fixing and additional wiring for wall controller. Install 20 x new light fittings( customer supplied) to rooms throughout property. Change over from existing batten fittings and also the installation of new positions for pendant lighting where required. Installation of 9 x down lights (customer supplied) to property. Installation to include, setting out/cutting, wiring and fitting. Supply and install LED strip lighting ( Warm white) to entrance and AV recesses My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: PR's Build - Electrical Work Quote, $3750 for 22 downlig 1259Dec 08, 2014 10:31 pm I dont think your quote is too bad Pan. We will be looking at around $3500 for 31 downlights, and ours were only $34 each. Also 3 dimmers. Our sparky only charges us what he pays for materials, and shows us the bill. The cables and dimmers alone were over $1000 and it took him the best part of a day to set them out, cut the holes and run the cables so they are ready to go. $80 an hour labour which is fairly reasonable I think. He still has to come back and install them after handover. So far it has cost us just under $3000. Down to earth, honest country bloke, so no fear of being overcharged at all. Maybe get another quote to put your mind at rest.
