Anyway this might be too late for you, however I thought I will update this anyway. We've received a quote of $11,657 from the builder for tiling throughout the home (excluding wet areas), when I check from external tiler total cost will be around $7000 all up (including tiles, grout sealing and labour) total area covered is around 102sq Harishka Re: flooring with builder /post handover - experiences? 8Aug 12, 2014 12:18 pm Harishka Hi Vetra43, We had our tender appointment last week. Thanks Re: flooring with builder /post handover - experiences? 9Aug 12, 2014 1:30 pm We have decided to do our tiling post handover. Our house is double story, the Main ensuite will be tiled thru the builder but the entire lower level will be tiled post handover. We are putting just the basic standard tile in the lower level toilet and laundry as we are planning to rip them out when the main tile is layed. Price wise we found the builder to be about $30-40 per sqm more than what i can be done for post handover. Also we found that the the suppliers the builder use (beaumont or National) dont have the range and quality of tiles that many other tile stores do. We are getting 1200x600 Porcelain tiles fully installed for the abit cheaper than the builder wanted for 600x600 Re: flooring with builder /post handover - experiences? 10Aug 12, 2014 1:35 pm sogg We have decided to do our tiling post handover. What's your estimate/ quote for laying tiles externally ? Re: flooring with builder /post handover - experiences? 11Aug 12, 2014 1:39 pm I am going to do carpet and tiling after handover. Its a lot cheaper. Both companies I have quotes from so far do work for the builder I'm with and will be laying the wet area tiles. So they can let themselves in to measure up and deliver the tiles for the living area etc just before handover. I have chosen a 600 x 600 tile as I think the larger tiles look far more luxurious although my ultimate preference is hardwood which is probably a little over my budget. Please reply me if you also bought a lot and have issues What kind of issues ? You have mandatory building inspections and privately engaged building inspections. The difference between the two comes down to inspecting the building so it's safe and… 3 18084 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8512 2 31358 |
