Don't think I could have the keys in my hands and not move in haha! I know what you mean eddie - we'll probably end up "camping" in the house for a week or so LOL. We're getting the floors done ourselves though, so a bit pointless getting the furniture in straight away! We have been trying to find someone who doesn't charge more than the house <_< Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 84Aug 14, 2013 11:50 am We're getting floating timber floors through Trevors Carpets. They are a regular supplier for lots of building companies, but by getting it done direct through them we're avoiding the builder's margin (roughly $2k). Not massive savings sure, but every little bit counts. I guess it really depends on what sort of flooring you're looking at having done. We've just got tiling in the bathrooms and laundry through Celebrations. We're not having any carpet in the house as it sets off my asthma. Area rugs are fine as they can be cleaned more regularly and replaced more easily if they're worn or you just want a change! Unfortunately there were some small delays, so PCI has been pushed back a week to this Friday the 23rd. A little disappointing, but still not long to go! Fingers crossed there won't be too many issues to rectify and we can have our keys asap! Thats not bad, considering if I recall you say you had issues with tiles that put you back a few weeks. Exciting times! Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 90Aug 19, 2013 5:28 pm That's right Eddie, overall we've been really pleased with our building experience. I guess it's just that we're so close to the finish line delays at this stage seem so much more awful! It's only another week, which in the scheme of things is no time at all, but when you're counting down the days until keys it seems like a lifetime LOL It looks like the weather is going to hold out much better this week - so hopefully you will have lots of activity on your site Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 91Aug 19, 2013 6:20 pm beemdoubleu That's right Eddie, overall we've been really pleased with our building experience. Given our slabs went down at the same time, and we have our keys already, that kinda sucks you've had so many delays!...what can you do...diddly squat! Hope this doesn't affect all your trades you had booked in for Sept. Hopefully they will do your PCI jobs quickly so you can have your keys sooner rather than later...they are running out of weeks...26 weeks is what they promise!! Fingers crossed for Friday. Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 93Aug 20, 2013 11:26 am I've managed to reschedule the trades a week later to give us some breathing space luckily. It's difficult to know when to book the removalists though! Apart from our bedroom furniture all of our stuff is in storage. I don't want to book a date too far away so we have to wait even longer to actually move in, but at the same time don't want to anticipate it too early only to have to reschedule! Just trying to wait patiently - in a few months when everything is in its place this waiting will mean nothing Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 94Aug 22, 2013 2:50 pm almost done hey. whats the go with the driveway step around the water meter a bit awkward. Hurry up and wait Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 95Aug 23, 2013 1:36 pm Perth Dream almost done hey. whats the go with the driveway step around the water meter a bit awkward. Yes it is a little bit, there's a sewer inspection point there too which actually cuts in further to the driveway than the water meter does. I'm hoping once we do the landscaping it won't be quite as noticeable. Our PCI went quite smoothly today and luckily only some minor items to rectify. We should have keys in a week or so Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 96Aug 23, 2013 1:41 pm That's very exciting!
