Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 21Jun 21, 2013 12:02 pm Took a night run up to the house last night - grey float has been completed in Bed 1, ensuite, walk in robe, alcove in entry and the theatre! All the metal beading has been applied to the corners in the rest of the house too. My mum is a Prestart Consultant and she's predicting lock up will happen in a couple of weeks time at the rate they are going. Celebrations do pride themselves on their building time frames, so will probably be looking to catch up on a bit of time lost with the delay on the roof tiles Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 22Jun 21, 2013 10:06 pm Exciting!!!!! We are also building with C.H, but we are building the Sol with lots of changes . The house next door to us is the Polaris, so was able to walk through that for a sticky beak. It's a nice design. Our slab went down the day after yours funnily enough but we are at lock up, so a little bit ahead. Shame about the tiling delay but you'll soon catch up. Grey float to lockup for us was about 4 weeks, but it might be less for you as they will probably try and catch you up cos of the delay. The build has gone very fast, everything is bang, bang ,bang done! Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 24Jun 23, 2013 11:15 am Thanks Belle! I think we used the Sol elevation - were very close to choosing that plan too. Do you have a build thread? Cedes all I can say is my mum works for a well known luxury builder, not CH. My dad owns a supply company in the industry and I have various other family members who are trades, etc. I actually worked for APG Homes myself for a short time in between studying at uni - not in the industry at all now though Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 25Jun 23, 2013 1:08 pm You have connections!!!! hehehehehehehehe building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 26Jun 25, 2013 10:35 pm Hi beemdoubleu, Yes the Sol elevation seems to be quite popular. I like that one,but we went with another, the Orion I think. No I don't have a thread, not organised enough for that..lol...and it's really gone so quick, so too late !! Your funny cedes Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 27Jun 26, 2013 11:51 pm Some one has front render now. looks real good Hurry up and wait Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 28Jun 27, 2013 4:01 pm Yes PD we do! Took a night run up yesterday (so no photos) and we're very happy with how things are ticking along. They had finished all the interior grey float apart from a couple of walls in the Laundry and the hallway to the minor bedrooms. They've even started the white set in Bed 1 & the robe! I'll get some photos to post up on the weekend... All flowed pretty quickly. Looks great, amazing how much bigger it feels once the white walls are there Nice frontage Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 31Jul 02, 2013 2:06 pm will need to take a peek inside when i go on the weekend. looking good like the roof colour Hurry up and wait Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 32Jul 02, 2013 9:16 pm posting to follow your build. Looking great so far, exciting times Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 33Jul 02, 2013 11:44 pm Hey people! We're building the the Polaris with Sol elevation - so very intrigued that our home will look pretty much like yours, just mirrored. We have pre-start this week so pretty excited! Looking forward to further updates guys. Embarking on our first home build! Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 35Jul 03, 2013 5:02 pm Thanks Belle I think we're going to take a run up tonight and have a look at the progress - would love to have ceilings in a week or so! Welcome Janice - thanks for following AKPow - you must have very good taste We flipped the design due to the block orientation so it was better for the Alfresco. Apart from that we've made very few changes to the overall Polaris design - it's our first home together, not our dream home, so it was a matter of striking a balance between having a house to suit our lifestyle and not putting ourselves too far into debt. The plan is to hopefully keep this house as an investment once we're ready to upgrade. As for smart wiring, we've gone with a package that ensures we are NBN ready since that is likely to be a standard requirement for people looking to buy in the future. We're also having an alarm system installed through Intelligent Home as well as some extras for the theatre, etc. We currently live in a house with smart wiring and although it's not a massively "techy" house, the technology does integrate well into daily life so we don't really think about what we would have to do without it. Like I said once our white set was finished, which I think was a Thursday, they did a tiny bit on the Saturday...but I didn't really count that. They started properly on the Monday. Hopefully it will be the same for you Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 38Jul 04, 2013 4:25 pm That's what I was thinking too Belle, we'll probably go have a look on the weekend anyway and get some pictures in daylight. Super impressed with Celebration Homes at the moment! They sent us some 3D renders from the cabinetmakers with options due to an issue with the microwave recess - this enabled us to pick up a couple of minor things in the kitchen we didn't notice before. They were very understanding, responding to emails about changes within a couple of hours and we've even got a credit back Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 39Jul 05, 2013 1:49 pm I just found out that we should reach lock-up on July 12 (next Friday), which means that with any luck we'll have our keys about the last week of August! Will still need to have air con and flooring people come in after handover, so not moving in straight away unfortunately.
