Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 05, 2013 11:49 pm Hi everyone, My husband and I purchased a block of land in Madora Bay WA in feb this year, expecting the titles in July. We have signed up with Ross North homes, building the Churchill, with a few variations and additions. This is the first home we have built from scratch together, and its already proving difficult to make decisions, so I have joined this forum to seek some advice on those big decisions I have already been reading along and have many ideas already so thank you. Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 2Jun 06, 2013 9:39 am Thanks I will try and upload our house plans today, we have changed a few things to the original design. Our working drawings should be back to us any day now, we are eagerly awaiting those! Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 3Jun 06, 2013 10:35 pm Here are our house plans. We are just waiting on the final drawings, should be any day now. We started with the original Churchill design, but added a games room, a scullery, outdoor toilet and changed a few other internal features. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z100 ... plans1.png Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 4Jun 07, 2013 12:30 pm Hi Strawberryjam , Love your plans very similar features as to the house we are building in Madora bay currently. We started with a similar plan from D/A homes but due to being on a corner we couldnt quite get it all to work how we wanted it, thus went custom build. Are you a Mandurah local. Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 5Jun 07, 2013 3:02 pm Hi Mullet, Yes we are locals, currently living in Meadow Springs. Time to move to the nicer side getting so crazy busy here now! Excited but already quite overwhelmed as Prestart gets closer... Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 7Jun 07, 2013 5:42 pm Hi Strawberry Jam We have also signed up with Ross North Homes and had pre-start last Thursday. We are building an altered version of The Alkimos with them in Placid Waters (I can post a copy of the floor plan when I figure out how to ha ha) We currently live in Lakelands but very much looking forward too moving away from here. I love the look of your floorplan, Im actually going to print it out so I can have a closer look. How have you found the company so far? Are you booked for pre-start yet? I didnt get the impression they build many homes down our way. Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 8Jun 07, 2013 8:36 pm Hi Sher96 We are still waiting for our final drawings to come back to us, and then they said they will book prestart in- so probably another 4+ weeks away yet- which is good coz I am not good at making decisions!!! We have mainly only dealt with the display home sales people and they were great- haven't entered the next step yet so we will see! We were close to signing with dale Alcock, even went and looked at their selection centre which was fabulous- but ended up with Ross North. Bit of a pain having to go around to all the different places to choose stuff! Most stuff in Perth too... Would love to hear how your prestart went- we are expecting the money side to increase as I like the upgrades dangerous!!! Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 9Jun 07, 2013 8:37 pm Mullet- my kids go to school here and will continue to when we move to Madora, we are on a main road so too busy for us now, otherwise it's been good Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 10Jun 08, 2013 12:13 am Welcome to Madora Bay A slab has just gone down outside our house were renting, wondering if its going to below to anyone on here We're building in lakelands Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Madora Bay build-with Ross North 11Jun 08, 2013 12:41 am jcbissor- thanks be a while til we are there, titles aren't expected til late next month! Probably the worst timing signing up to build a house at end of financial year when you work in HR/Payroll lol. STRESS.
