Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Perth Builders 2Jun 05, 2013 12:33 pm Hi gunny. We did quite a bit of research and looked at so many different builders in the end we chose HomeGroup WA. It all really depends on what you're looking for in your house. At the moment HGWA are offering $50k worth of insentives on some of heir designs and ther are very flexible when it comes to making changes to the designs to suit your needs. We haven't commenced our build as yet, land was only titled last week, but there are a few on here that have their own build threads that are building with HGWA, it appears from them the only gripes they've had is with the slowness on the admin side but once building starts they've been really happy. John Re: Perth Builders 3Jun 05, 2013 12:40 pm It's a while now since we built, we did so with Dale Alcock - not a brilliant choice given the cost and the quality we ended up with. The independent inspector we used told me at handover we could have saved $50k and got better quality for the same house with Home Group WA. Re: Perth Builders 4Jun 05, 2013 1:07 pm Thanks guys. I am doing a bit of research on both builders. Those HomeGroupWA prices listed on their website specials do not in many items like site costs right? Which other things are not included? I can search though the forum, but getting an opinion through individual build is very difficult. I Re: Perth Builders 6Jun 06, 2013 10:12 am Hi Gunny, It depends on what kind of house you are wanting to build as there are a lot of good perth builders out there. We are currently building with Homegroup and just waiting for a slab. They are slow at paperwork but very thorough and helpful and we have since caught up to everyone else that started similar times to us. We have also built with homebuyers centre and they were great too for the smaller home. no complaints with them either. goodluck with your decision Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Perth Builders 7Jun 06, 2013 10:50 am we are currently building with Redink, they have been great so far, would absolutely recommend them. We did originally sign on with another builder but the customer service was so bad with them we ended up pulling out, and we aren't difficult people to deal with I promise!!! building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: Perth Builders 8Jul 22, 2013 12:47 pm we built with Homegroup WA as well and yes the admin side is a bit slower, but there were no problems or errors on the plans once we got them. Build wise went great, there were a couple of minor issues, but they were fixed up swiftly. I would definitely build with them again. We just has 6 month maintenance, and there was only some cornice cracking to be patched and some cracked tiles. Our block used to be flooded 40 years ago, so it is a lot of sediment, and we expected to experience cracking, so are not too bothered. I also found their extras prices at prestart to be very reasonable mostly. Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: Perth Builders 9Jul 22, 2013 6:58 pm Thanks guys. Really appreciate your inputs. Still early days for me though on the builder search.
I even saw houses without cornice and skirting boars in Perth built in the last 5 years. I never saw anything like this ever in Sydney.
