Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Pls help with render colo 21Aug 18, 2013 1:43 pm Here are a couple of inspiration pic, hope they help. Both have timber features and I think the first pic would look even better with white windows rather than black. The first pic has paperback render and the second is a paperbark/surfmist mix. The third is 1/2 strength grey pebble (lighter colour). Frozenkuku has chosen this colour and I have attached link to his thread. Personally I like paperbark. I think it will make the window and timber feature, 'pop', while keeping the classic look that you are going for Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58754&start=200 Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Pls help with render colo 22Aug 29, 2013 12:54 pm OMG I've finally worked out my colours for the façade and we have a demo date!! We are starting on the 23rd Sept (once all this rain is gone hopefully!) Excited and its all a bit daunting at the same time Our chosen façade colours are : Colorbond Woodland grey for roof, gutters and fascia. Paperbark garage door and down pipes. Timber cladding to portico. Dulux European stone for render. White birch window frames and eaves. Should all come together nicely. Hope everyone's builds are coming along great guns Re: Adelaide - first custom build. A demo date....yay! 23Aug 29, 2013 1:03 pm Should be lovely, bizzee38. Re: Adelaide - first custom build. A demo date....yay! 25Oct 03, 2013 8:39 am Awesome, love the European stone, very cool. Just out of curiosity are you north/east/south/west of city? Re: Adelaide - first custom build. A demo date....yay! 26Oct 03, 2013 9:50 pm We are West of the city FairmontSAcustom. Our demo is happening this week, tiles are off unless that was the wind?!? The usual slight delay with AGL gas/electricity abolishment but our builder got them cracking much quicker than was first thought. We are still sifting through our selections, as its a custom build we don't have to select everything before hand. We have a new Nectre combustion wall fire picked out today which will definitely keep us toasty. Bathroom tiles are sorted and off to Harvey Norman next week to fine tune bathroom and kitchen fittings. Much more to do after school holidays! Re: Adelaide - first custom build. We have a slab! 28Dec 03, 2013 11:41 am Hi all, have been MIA for a while as life gets crazy but the house has gone and we have our slab! Frame work to start next week so now it gets more interesting. Will post pics as we go....just need to find my camera cord in one of the packed boxes!! Re: Adelaide - first custom build. We have a slab! 29Jan 11, 2014 2:31 pm A quick fast track of pics so far!

Fast track of progress pi 30Jan 11, 2014 7:23 pm Looking great so far, must be very exciting for you to see it coming together Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Fast track of progress pi 34Jan 12, 2014 9:55 am It's a great plan! Can I ask where you are building approx and who with? Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Fast track of progress pi 36Jan 12, 2014 1:14 pm Very impressive. Will be fantastic living there. Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Fast track of progress pi 37Jan 12, 2014 9:59 pm This is how the house sits on our block Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We are in the western suburbs with a custom builder. Can PM details if you want. Now even though our frame is up our builder can change things if it is logistically possible .......so I'm thinking I need to swap the position of the combustion wall fire with the TV and get rid of the window (need to tell him this one tomorrow!) The plans have been tweaked a bit from the one posted on here. The window is now horizontal and up above the TV but if I move it to the right hand side of the wall in the family room we will only get a view of our neighbours brick wall and gutters. Think I may get rid of it as it may not really be needed. We should get enough light from the huge dining window and we have a 5 door bifold on the dining side and a 4 door bifold on the living room side. The outdoor room will be under cover but do you think we will get enough light? Our home is North facing. The reason I want to change is due to the furniture set up. I'd rather a corner couch in the corner and more space around the wall fire/outdoor access area and not waste "dead space" by having the couch central and the fire where it is now and space you cant do much with. Make any sense? I'm also thinking of taking out the niches at the end of the hall (left side) as we have shelving on the opposite side and think it make look a little too busy in one area. Thoughts??? Thanks! Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Fast track of progress pi 38Jan 12, 2014 10:07 pm Yep I'd probably get rid of window. Plenty of light through doors and you don't want too much as watching TV in that room. You could put in a couple of solatube in roof if needed. I am in my kitchen as a bit dark. I would also probably get rid of niches as you say a bit busy. You could consider storage cupboards with no handles instead. Would love details if you want to PM but I understand if you want to keep it private what size is the block? Re: Adelaide - first custom build. Do bricks get cleaned?! 40May 04, 2014 10:11 pm Just a quick question........once the brickies are finished do they usually "clean" the brick walls or is that left for us to do separately if needed?? I assumed they would do that to finish the job?!!? So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27690 9 24789 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 |
