Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 02, 2013 6:37 pm So I noticed a few days back that our mixer for the bathtub was directly right behind the tap and notified our BS right away. He said he we would contact the plumber and also look into it. Bought up the issue with him again during our onsite meeting the other day and said the plumber said it should be fine and there shouldn't be any issues, it is as "off the plan" anyway. Now that the tap and mixer has been installed (well kinda), just looking at it doesn't seem right and doesn't seem very practical. Well, that's what I believe to think.
Bring it up with the BS again? What does everyone else think? Re: Surely this should be fixed? 3Jun 02, 2013 9:56 pm From one of your photos it looks like you won't be able to open your tap from the middle position. I wouldn't accept that as its going to be a hassle. It should be off to one side, preferably the side nearest the entry position to the bath so you can run it easily without being inside the bath. Your bath looks great by the way! Can I ask what it is? (I am still in planning stage of building and after ideas) Re: Surely this should be fixed? 4Jun 02, 2013 10:12 pm It's a bad job and needs to be fixed. Nor quite as bad as this (http://www.anewhouse.com.au/?p=3797) but almost SORRY FOR THE BAD LINK-NOW FIXED Brian Probably neatest fix is to change the spout for a lower one The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Looks the supervisor has agreed to fix it after some arguing though. He said that the tap could be altered so that it could somehow work and the fact that it's part of the "contract drawings" - I wasn't happy and told him it was obviously a stuff up on their end! So all is good, it's going to be moved "100mm" to the left next week! As for the bath Mr Brown Bear - I tried checking our colour selection documents/contracts and couldn't find anything on it, sorry! (I am still in planning stage of building and after ideas) The bath looks like the Decina Uno - http://decina.com.au/our-products/bath- ... val-baths/ This is (or was) the standard bath for Prestige and Access house. Not sure if any changes to bath types. In most of the PD display homes. Re: Surely this should be fixed? 7Jun 13, 2013 2:48 pm tai27 Thanks everyone for your input! It annoys me that we are supposed to be the experts at reading every tiny detail on a plan that we are presented, then cross check, double check and triple check for this small details. Re: Surely this should be fixed? 8Jun 13, 2013 2:57 pm we have almost the same setup but the swivel spout is in the corner and the mixer is central to the end of the bath. this way you can lean your head back over the edge of the bath. Depends how you are going to use it but another option Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
