All of it love love love I think the splashback tiles are gorgeous, they just add a point of difference and are spectacular. They suit your kitchen so well. Kids will love it! And I don't think the splashback is too provincial/old fashioned. Would love to see some pics in daylight. I've come around to the tiles in general however I am still disappointed in them, because it seems the white of the tiles is a really cool white, I think it really clashes with the rest of the kitchen. Early in the morning it even seems light blue!! I wonder how difficult it would be to paint them a slightly warmer white.... Here's a picture I took today but the white balance is all wrong, the cabinets are definitely not this yellow (looks yuck) and the tiles are cooler than they appear here. I'll try and get some better pictures with a proper camera. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Anyway on a positive note we're moving tomorrow!! Wheeee!! The house was all cleaned today which is LOVELY. My MIL is coming to visit to see the new house in a few weeks so I splurged on some beautiful linen for the spare room. I've been eyeing this set off for ages and Adairs has an amazing sale on at the moment. You've stuck to the theme really well and even if the whites are slightly off, it's not noticeable enough to ruin your kitchen. Of course, I can't see it in the flesh, but from what I can see, it seems ok. I wouldn't paint tiles, that seems fraught with potential issues. Don't sweat it, you've done a great job Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 705Jul 09, 2014 8:16 pm I agree with PanRaptor, I think you've done a wonderful job and your kitchen looks great Great linen set too Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 706Jul 09, 2014 9:46 pm No your kitchen looks wonderful. Even though you think it looks yellow I can't see it. The splash tiles really stand out. I think it's fantastic. Have you done a search on Houzz or Pinterest for white kitchens? You'll find plenty that have varying shades. I wouldn't stress. Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 707Jul 09, 2014 9:57 pm I think once you add a few accessories to your kitchen it will take your focus away from the colour of the tile completely...I think they look gorgeous for what it is worth Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 708Jul 09, 2014 10:23 pm belzey I think once you add a few accessories to your kitchen it will take your focus away from the colour of the tile completely. That's a great point - I think you are so right Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 709Jul 10, 2014 1:18 am We live and breath our builds for so long . That if you are like me ,when you finish you start to think twice . Your kitchen looks lovely in the photo . And once everything is in your home . You won't be just looking at a kitchen . With all those kids you won't even see the bench lol . Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 710Jul 10, 2014 5:41 am your kitchen is lovely and like others say a few accessories is the way to go Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 711Jul 10, 2014 7:33 am I had the same issue between my cupboard and my ceasarstone bench last build. Whites are hard to match. I have to admit it always did annoy me when I stood back and looked that my bench looked a cream in comparison. Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 712Jul 10, 2014 9:23 am A nice bright white splash back is actually quite a nice feature. I love your kitchen. It really looks awesome! Do you have under cabinet lighting too? The kitchen looks amazing!! Add a couple of pieces of colour and that will take your eye off the different whites. All you'll see is white with splashes of colour. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 714Jul 10, 2014 1:58 pm The splash back will look much better once you get some stuff on your bench, at the moment it stands out but I think it'll become more a statement once you place some appliances or other nick backs on the counter Re: Our Rocky Forever Home - couple of pics 715Jul 10, 2014 9:53 pm I think it looks lovely... And I'm not a white lover! It's one of the nicest white kitchens I've ever seen Try the accessories and see if it makes a difference, if not then look at options... I know what it's like to not be settled on something completely and even when everyone loves it, you just don't care! Seriously though, it all looks so lovely. You've done really well and it's a lovely kitchen. It's been a massive few weeks moving and settling in. Hubby had a serious health scare as well, so it's not been a particularly nice time. We've had so many little jobs being done everywhere but they are slowly being ticked off the list. It's great being in. We've had the pool area tiled and the fence put on. The rest of the patio will be tiled this weekend hopefully. This is the view from our bedroom. I love the privacy and the views of the tree tops. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our qasair range hood has finally been installed, that was blardy expensive and the installer accidentally poked a hole in our ceiling which he's got to come back and repair! But it's nice to be able to cook without stinking out the whole house for days. And it works beautifully. I'm still not happy with the white of the splash back tiles but I will live with it for the time being. It certainly is less noticeable once our stuff is all around it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We can still only fit one car in the garage at the moment as there's heaps of shed stuff (don't have a shed yet!) and this giant pile of empty boxes I've just sold on eBay and waiting for them to come and get them!
