Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 27, 2013 8:48 pm Hi Everyone, This our first post on the forum. We are building the Marriott with Simonds. We have been told today that our construction drawings are ready and we would have them in a week. Are there any tips as to what to look out for once we have them. We signed our contract end of April. Hopefully we have the construction begin in the next few weeks. We cant wait for the build to commence Re: Building the Marriott with Simonds in Wantirna South VIC 3May 28, 2013 7:16 pm Rangehood (Standard) http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh12 ... Same for the open plan area. Big place with 3 bathrooms... (enjoy the cleaning).... apart from that it looks great. I'm building a Simonds Stanten, which is nearly 34sq, initially ill be living in it by myself. A house gets dirty primarily from people making it dirty. A house half the size of mine will get FAR more dirty with a family in it. Especially homes like the Stanten with 2 bathrooms + a powder room. Eeeeeek. If you're already sweeping a floor, what's the difference in sweeping a few more squares? I don't think bigger living areas really make a difference. Re: Building the Marriott with Simonds in Wantirna South VIC 6May 28, 2013 8:53 pm Marriott is our dream home and when we walked through the front doors of the display home in Marriott Waters (Lyndhurst) first time 3 yrs ago and we both went "WOW". Our land is 765m2. We have changed a few little things like flipped it around and changing common toilet to En-suite 2 for Bedroom 3. We have got a light brown colour tiles in the wet areas and entrance, kitchen, dining & living and bedrooms passage. Then a brown colour category 3 carpet in the bedrooms, study and lounge. The garage door is Contemporary design with Caoba (timber Look) Homestead Tan Bricks with off white Mortar http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254 ... 9_1549.jpg Sambuca roof tiles http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd4 ... ftiles.png Monument gutters and facias Bathroom Sink http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y448/swete001/2.png Kitchen bench top and En-suite 1, En-suite 2 sink bench top is Osprey http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd4 ... rstone.png Re: Building the Marriott with Simonds in Wantirna South VIC 7May 28, 2013 9:51 pm Marto54 d@n Master bed looks huge. We have friends/family who stay with us a few months of the year. The extra bathroom makes it a lot more easier with privacy. In any case if you clean regularly its not much of a task. We are building a 55 square home and I hear the same thing about cleaning but i agree with this poster it is people that make a home dirty. I am a fan of constant cleaning. Every day I do a little bit. It is very rare I have to clean my current home thoroughly so i don't anticipate that issue with a larger home. Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. I went through your building thread last week. Your house looks amazing and selections look great, specially feature wall tiles. We have a pool near the alfresco similar to your pool shape. We are going for coping tiles around the pool and then we are hoping for a glass pool fence. Due to limited access after house construction, Pool was installed and 80% work completed before house construction started.
