Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Warralily estate 22Jun 13, 2013 9:59 am Great to hear that your titles are ready to go, settlement will be here before you know it. That's great that you found the colour appointment fun and not stressful too, i think i found ours a bit of both, but mostly tiring! I just hope we made all the right decisions, it's hard choosing bricks, tiles, floorboards etc from small samples and hoping they all work together on a bigger scale Goodluck with your building contract (now that's a headache - soooo much paperwork and signing to do) and your finance too! How long do they allow for your build? Do you think that you will be in by christmas? Building the D-Three with 8homes at Warralily Re: Warralily estate 23Jun 13, 2013 7:41 pm Doubt we will be there by Christmas but who knows. Yes it is hard to picture what it will look like from little samples. Boutique was pretty good they had sample bench tops and al sorts in there show room full tiles and good size bits of carpets and so forth all the door handles and things which made it easier. and our consultant was very good at assisting us. Re: Warralily estate 27Jun 21, 2013 9:31 pm We ended up choosing Boutique too Wazza. Will be interesting to hear from you during the building stages. We're going with the Oslo 24, removing the 4th bedroom and extending the alfresco. We basically had the choice of the Oslo with all the luxuries we wanted, or the Barcelona 28 with just the bare bones so went with the Oslo. Re: Warralily estate 28Jun 23, 2013 8:41 pm Cool Aussie. We did out colour selection a couple of weeks ago. Just have to wait for settlement on the land and finance at the moment. We made a few changes like added a few power points moved phone point to study added a nbn point to the theater room. Doors on theater room. Extra laundry cupboard. We got upgraded carpet and bricks Re: Warralily estate 29Jun 24, 2013 2:40 pm Hey Wazza, I'm not sure how our place is coming along to be honest, the perils of living a 3 hour round trip away... We were down at Warralily not this Sat gone but the Sat beforehand and they had prepped for the slab to be poured by having it all boxed in but the weather had not permitted the slab itself to be laid (Even though we went down to Warralily after receiving an invoice and confirmation that the slab had being laid...sigh, very frustrating!). I received an email Thursday just gone indicating that the framers would be onsite from then onwards so i'm assuming that means that perhaps the slab is poured?!? How's about yourself? You and your fam must be counting down the days til settlement and then til the house starts building - then the fun and games will begin Building the D-Three with 8homes at Warralily Re: Warralily estate 31Jun 25, 2013 11:53 am Oh wow, building contracts this week - that's exciting! Do they have an anticipated start date for you yet? They should also be able to tell you at that point in time how long they are allowing for the build and when they anticipate it will be finished by - it certainly helps from a planning perspective Yes, a bit of a move, my husband and I have been frequent movers but i grew up in Geelong and am looking forward to getting back there in time for summer to hit the beaches. This is our forever home so no more moves after this one Building the D-Three with 8homes at Warralily Re: Warralily estate 34Jun 30, 2013 10:18 pm I have been reading the recommendations from Csiro in foundation maintenance and prevention. With the soil at warralily it seems like a good idea to follow these guidelines. But I don't really want to concrete all the way around the house. What are you guys thoughts. Have you read these guide lines ? Re: Warralily estate 35Jul 03, 2013 12:56 pm Hey Wazza, I don't blame you for not being able to find our house, it's going ahead so quick (fingers crossed it stays that way) i'm even having trouble recognising it. I'll try and pm you the exact details and that way you can keep tabs on it for me when you head by to check out yours :p Not sure what we are doing regarding the CSIRO recommendations, to be honest we hadn't thought about it much and i don't think we really want a concrete path right around the home either... thanks for bringing it to my attention though - i guess it's something we should start thinking about. How did you go with the final contracts? Building the D-Three with 8homes at Warralily Re: Warralily estate 36Sep 05, 2013 11:08 pm Hey Hutchy contracts all done building approvals all done. Only waiting for the loan to go unconditional. Am hoping to get a call tomorrow but won't hold my breath. Any other people starting to build soon or started building in warralily Re: Warralily estate 37Sep 06, 2013 3:02 pm Hey guys! My partner and I are looking to build in Warralily too. We are looking to go with either Porter Davis or Carlisle Homes, but are still saving up a deposit for the banks so we can get ourselves a loan. Hopefully by June next year we will have around $20k and that will hopefully be enough for us to at least start talking to brokers and banks. I love Warralily! It's such a great position, we timed it to be 7 minutes to Kardinia Park in Geelong and it's about the same to get to Barwon Heads! I really think the Geelong/Surf coast region is highly underrated. How is everyones building process going? Any news on the Parks/Shopping/Schools for the estate yet? Fingers crossed some of them are getting started when we move there next year. http://kateandnathsblog.blogspot.com.au/ Carlisle Homes Addison 24 - Warralily, Armstrong Crk, Geelong • Colour: June 1 Tender: June 9 Contract: July 3 • Site Title: Dec 2015 • Site Start: March 1 2016 • H/Over: June/July Re: Warralily estate 39Sep 28, 2013 4:15 pm Also, if any of you Warralily cats want to check it out, I have made a Blog for our build! http://katieandnathanslife.blogspot.com.au/ x K http://kateandnathsblog.blogspot.com.au/ Carlisle Homes Addison 24 - Warralily, Armstrong Crk, Geelong • Colour: June 1 Tender: June 9 Contract: July 3 • Site Title: Dec 2015 • Site Start: March 1 2016 • H/Over: June/July |
