Re: Delaying PCI - have you done it? 7May 22, 2013 6:09 pm Hi Novice8, in our contract, the xmas shutdown is not counted in the contracted days - it is an extension. If your contract is the same, then they will not have to pay compensation because the shutdown days do not add to the contract length. Our only option will be (if they're actually running to schedule) hope they fix everything in the week for handover, or just accept some of the more minor defaults I guess. Re: Delaying PCI - have you done it? 9May 22, 2013 9:25 pm Have you actually started building? Xmas being 7 months away, a lot can happen from now til then, if you have just started building, including delays due to weather, waiting for contractors to finish on another job to work on your house, mistakes occurring during that build that need to be rectified (it happens) and so on.......so even if you have a schedule for the build, you will probably need to factor in time for some delays "just in case". You might be lucky and have handover before Xmas, so that will be a bonus, but I probably would not count on it so you are not disappointed if it doesn't happen.
