Been stalking your blog to see if you updated but no new pics Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Landscaping 1163Oct 25, 2014 8:46 pm First damage and tears. Dropped a bottle of detol on the floor today in the kitchen. It came flooding out. I mopped it up best I could - came back a few hours later and the planks have lifted and swelled. Actually cried. Going to have to get them replaced, so annoyed at myself ;( About 8 plants are affected and I see them from every angle Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1164Oct 25, 2014 9:16 pm Can you claim it on the house insurance JCB? My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1165Oct 25, 2014 9:28 pm I feel for you .I scrached my stove with the iron casters . I knew I should of waited till the stove was cool .I cried I think it is normal but I kept telling myself it wasnt the end of the world and its something I can replace . Really I dont even look at it anymore . Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1166Oct 26, 2014 12:41 am OOhh jc! You poor thing! I cant believe that a spill like that could do that much damage. I mean, you would expect that sort of thing to happen fairly regularly. I would certainly be talking to your supplier about replacement without cost.. I'm so sorry. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1167Oct 26, 2014 10:53 am Oh no! I'm with Rache it shouldn't be possible to damage it that easily Hope you can get it fixed Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1168Oct 26, 2014 12:07 pm Any water damage isn't covered in the warranty and our home insurance excess will be bigger than having someone out I think. Yes I can't believe it's damaged it, it's like the edges of the plants have lifted and crinkled it must have seeped between the joins, makes me scared about having a puppy or a child if something like 5 secs of disinfectant can go that! Now I know why they say don't wash the floors with a mop and water. Siggghhhhh. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1169Oct 26, 2014 1:07 pm Oh no our puppy peed on our planks and it did the same, peeling up on the edges and it was cleaned up straight away hopefully an easy and cheap fix! Or did you get someone to come do it? We have leftover ones and JC is thinking about giving it a go - but I don't know. You actually can't see it in the day, just at night. Dear me. So devastated! I think I'll get a nappy for our puppy when we get one! In the UK the suppliers would tell customers not to allow liquid to contact the laminate. If I recall correctly, they were liable to replace it if the customer wasn't informed. I'd assumed Aussie laminate must have been manufactured in a different way to pom stuff as I'd never heard any warnings about damage being caused by liquid. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1175Oct 27, 2014 11:55 am Oh no! cant believe how much damage it caused Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1176Oct 27, 2014 6:12 pm I feel for you. Our skirting boards layer left paint droplets on the floor and some of it has still not come up. When I was researching laminate one of the salespeople said they had water damage and that after a week or so the swelling went down..... so maybe that will happen for you? Fingers crossed. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Damaged floor, want to cry :( 1177Oct 29, 2014 12:20 pm Thanks all. 5 days later they haven't gone down. Maybe the disinfectant didn't help.. at least that area smells nice. We have booked in someone to come pull them up and lay our left over ones. Also my cat died last night, this week is great! haha On another note - does anyone Mandurah/rocko way know of a good renderer to come render our planter boxes that JC has built? Any contacts would be great Im so proud of JC for giving it a go and making our planters and letter box.
