Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Mandurah/Rocko Renderer Contacts 1182Oct 29, 2014 9:21 pm Dream_Catchers Hahaha thank you!! Although that's pretty much what i think i'll be doing.. Not sure if i have to place a mesh wire in the concrete or basically just make a long slab for the bricks to sit on. If it's just for some low walls for planters and a little wall at the front then mesh won't be needed for the footing. Maybe the disinfectant didn't help.. at least that area smells nice. We have booked in someone to come pull them up and lay our left over ones. Also my cat died last night, this week is great! haha On another note - does anyone Mandurah/rocko way know of a good renderer to come render our planter boxes that JC has built? Any contacts would be great Im so proud of JC for giving it a go and making our planters and letter box. He's so great Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tim Buswell, if I remember his name right. He's the renderer LeAnne used. He's got a FB page. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Mandurah/Rocko Renderer Contacts 1188Nov 01, 2014 10:29 pm oh thank you... i totally forgot his name! Pretty much haven't done anything to the house except dig sand in every spare single moment and day off. Started off sand wise looking like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And after manual trailor loads every Sunday for the last couple of months we've finally reached the back fence yesterday! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now we have just the back to do, then going to get a guy to come and level it. It was costing us around $1000k to remove about 2.5m of sand when we were paying for it, it has taken us so much longer but a hell of a lot cheaper! Not much else happening, JC is going to attempt rendering the planter boxes this weekend, and we confirmed our front landscaping plans finally today. Going to look great, and will keep the annoying child from hell off our front! Finally! From the curtains, to the little tael touches and now the plans to landscape. Well done, you must be thrilled Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69984 If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Sand, Sand, Sand & Christmas :) 1191Dec 06, 2014 10:02 am It looks great outside. You've got sand, we've got mud! At least you are saving money and getting fit. Bedroom looks great. Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Sand, Sand, Sand & Christmas :) 1192Dec 06, 2014 10:17 am Thank you Yes sure are burning some Christmas calories hehe Although thought I was going too hard and pulled a chest muscle - no no turns out I had pleurisy the whole time lol. Is retic hard to DIY? Think we're going to give it a go ourselves out the back. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - Sand, Sand, Sand & Christmas :) 1193Dec 06, 2014 12:45 pm Retic is easy enough, the likes of total Eden have plans you can draw up you yard on, tell them the water pressure and flow they will then design and quote on what you need, even deliver then you just dig, plumb and wire it up. And to stop the kid next door playing ball on our front. It's getting old now having a ball kicked into the bedroom window and cars! Have you even had a chance to enjoy it, with all that work? hahah ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! It's nice to still have that 'we did this' feeling every now and then And yes it's been continuous projects but it's worth it. I am dreading pulling up the portico pavers and alfresco pavers to lay next to the driveway, as they don't make those bricks anymore so we need them to match then we're putting eko deck under portico and alfresco and up to the planters out the front which is going to take foreverrrrr. Just want it done! We have our six month inspection next week the only issues we have had are: 1. Toilet roll holder falling off 2. Ensuite fan has a cord stuck in it and it so loud. 3. Ensuite toilet fan is SO LOUD compared to the other toilets fan, can hear it at the end of the house, want that replaced. 4. Mirror cracked in ensuite in exact same place it did before handover again. 5. Plug in bath has rusted, but we haven't even used the bath yet lol. That's pretty much it not major things just annoying things. Yeh we are doing alot of things ourself too .but sometimes think would of been nice to have got someone else to do it .im soooo picky .still painting lol . Our 6 mon check is due .but wont be started till feb as I have 6 kids so to hard to get trades in here till after school holiday s . We have grout issue but that that is only major issue which will hopefully be all sorted out . With other minor issues . That are doing my head in . But im getting a bit nerves coz I dont wont them to do a worse job than what it is .if you know what I mean . Sometimes its better left as is . Good luck with everything .nice to see you back on here Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo - DIY Rendered Planter Boxes :) 1200Dec 23, 2014 4:57 pm Thanks JC has given rendering our planter boxes a go himself, and they look great! He even let me render one side and I didn't do too bad of a job Just need to do a second layer and then texture coat and water proof them We also bought a lemon tree and an exposed aggregate look pot - our first part of our garden! Being outside is so great, much better than sitting on the couch refreshing facebook! Im thinking that I want to put a vege garden out the back - does anyone have any great websites or resources for complete novices at growing your own food? hehe. We also had our 6 month inspection.. and the night before we noticed a massive wet patch on our study ceiling! Turns out we had a cracked pipe in the roof. The Gemmill guy sent a plumber to us almost within the hour and fixed it, such great service! Waiting for the patch to dry now and they will come back and fix the ceiling. Apart from that everything else was easy to fix, and he said we will have both ensuite and toilet fans replace because they are ridiculously loud. Heres some pics of the rendering activities. So proud of him learning it all from scratch, and saving $$!!
