Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 241Jul 20, 2013 8:05 pm Torz - Feel much better, still get tired about 3pm so I have a feeling work is going to suck in the afternoons when I go back on Monday. We're moving offices on Friday too - effffort. Ooh what's your settlement date? Ours just got pushed back to 3rd August, were meant to see some contracts this week - we'll see. Turtle - your tiling experience scares me, they're super expensive tiles to have a dodge tiling job done. Will have to have a look through your photos. I'm not convinced on the 2nd bathrooms tiles. Actually I keep changing my mind all together.. I want to have some artist input into our selection, but we know we like the Madison, so it's easy to copy. Ragh. Also I think I want glossy tiles, but the Madison's are matte and work.. Maybe gloss doesn't work? Sigh. We have a rent re-inspection because the first inspection wasn't good enough (cause I was in hospital and JC would rather be by my side than cleaning) they didn't even care I was in hospital even when I sent them a certificate. Ragh I cannot wait to be out of this stupid rental. We called to explain and we got a letter saying we were harrassing them and are breaching our contract. It's ridiculous. They're not even the company we signed up with 18 months ago, they took over overnight so how would they know what the garden looked like 18 months ago. Sorry off topic /endrant Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 242Jul 22, 2013 9:50 pm Bit of a random question - after finance, did any of you have to show your actual drivers license for ID at any other stage? Settlement, contracts, unconditional approval, handover? To add to the awesomeness of my life right now, I just lost my license. FML. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 243Jul 22, 2013 9:56 pm I haven't had to. You shouldn't need it until you get a new one. I'm sure you could use alternative I.D. if really needed. Have had a read - sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. Though as I work at RGH it's positive to hear your hospital stay was ok Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 244Jul 22, 2013 9:57 pm You'll need ID for the settlement agent but you can use a birth certificate or passport, doesn't have to be drivers licence Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 245Jul 22, 2013 10:43 pm Cool, thanks fmac I can stress a little less The ICU nurses were great soo much better than peel. Not a very glorious job though Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 246Jul 22, 2013 10:44 pm How did you lose your license? How sucky! Tell me about it, renting is a nightmare and property management companies are always horrible to tenants. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 250Jul 23, 2013 1:15 pm Oh no 8 months with no license arghhh, at least you have you partner here so he can do all the driving at the weekends to showhomes, tiles shops etc etc. keep your chin up & when feeling down just think of those beautiful tiles you have picked for your kitchen!! I used to be a property manager & I would just like to say its the WORST job in the world however there was no reason for your PM to be a b!*ch about the inspection. Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 251Jul 23, 2013 1:20 pm Yeah, thankyou Worried that the tiler will screw them up with grout, lol. Maybe I worry too much. I tried being nice, and offering medical certificates and copies of stuff from the old real estate but they just don't want to know. Oh well. Hopefully we don't get evicted before our house is built, I think id have a nervous breakdown lol. Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 254Jul 25, 2013 12:58 pm Yeah they used be standard (they were in 2011 when we built) but now most builders removed them for the 6 star energy rating Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 255Jul 25, 2013 5:37 pm Jayboy21 I didn't even get offered one. i thought it was standard, until i asked where it was, then i got told that builders don't do them anymore because its too hard to approve. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 256Jul 25, 2013 11:55 pm Can't decide! We love 'C' as that's what is in the display we like, but two sales reps in European ceramics have said they need resealing every two years, and as they are natural stone they will come away from the wall. I don't want them to look manky after a few years.. In the store we liked 'A' the most, but now were home we like 'B' more, I think it goes better with the wood grain laminex and looks more natural... But B is gloss and A is matte.. We were set on matte but now gloss looks more luxurious for the ensuite... Choices choices.. Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 258Jul 26, 2013 12:23 am From the pictures I like B. I like the different sized tiles/randomness. It's hard when you go and see it all. You think one thing and then see the other options that look amazing Re: Goodlife Bravo Build Thread - Mandurah 259Jul 26, 2013 1:05 am Yeah.. Thanks 0 10970 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair That laser level looks lovely! We bought one for less than a quarter of that price off eBay.
