this is going to sound a tad silly but i am wondering the different techniques available to installing the weatherboard style cladding typically found on a hamptons style house covering the external 2nd floor walls for example.
I know a brick veneer option is possible however i live in Perth and typically it is dominated by double brick cavity walls, is it possible to attach the cladding to a double brick cavity walls and if so how? i.e. 2nd floor clad and then ground floor an external render.
or is it done using a reverse brick veneer system which i have briefly read about where you have an internal brick wall with an external timber frame and then the cladding is nailed to the frame.
I tend to prefer either of the above two methods....
any help appreciated on techniques and products to look at
thanks
