I loved the natural light entering the kitchen, the whole idea of the canopy is great. I think the guy in Waterways name is John, he told us if we wanted to save 10K but still have a canopy, that we could drop it 600 mm (half size window and about a foot off the base of it) and still have a similar facade.
Not sure what it would have done to the light, but if its just look you are going for then it works. Paul Re: Building the "Cascade" (photo updates) 17May 07, 2008 4:00 pm Hi there guys,
The canopy is HOT! Love it! Good Luck Re: Building the "Cascade" (photo updates) 18May 09, 2008 1:28 pm Had a phone call yesterday from the SS, he was calling to give us a progress report. This is the first time that we have been contacted since construction began in January without us first having to push for information! The SS says that from here on in he will talk to us every Thursday with an update on progress! This is what we have been asking for all along, lets hope he stays true to his word.
Anyway back to the guts of what he had to report :- 1. Site has been cleaned up ready for delivery of roof tiles 2. Roof tile will be delivered next early week 3. He expects roof tiling to commence about Wednesday and to be complete 1 week later. This puts us a further 4 weeks behind schedule he gave us in early April! 4. Carpenters will be in next week to fit external doors for lockup 5. Electricians should be in as soon as roof is on to commence their bit. 6. Our concerns in regard to brickwork be level under kitchen & Butlers pantry windows (see thread elsewhere in this forum) have been noted and window levels and brickwork will be fixed. Were we entitled to those unused full pallets or does the builder get to return them? We also found that additional scaffolding had been erected and roof tiles delivered so hopefully the roof will be tiled by the end of the week!
