Browse Forums Building A New House Re: tristams first home 61Jan 09, 2014 8:44 am Jennifer we spoke to the plumber direct and added one in, plumbed our fridge too. Just paid them direct and that is what Fairmont told us to do when I called to ask. Not that they were that happy about it. Re: tristams first home 62Jan 19, 2014 9:50 am before christmas we were rang up by supreme kitchens saying the bench top we picked was discontinued so we went down and picked something instead of black alecNte we now have ebony marble similar but instead of white its grey splashes all we are waiting on is a letter to be sent to fairmonts as they require it to start so close yet seems so far away i hope they get it soon as hubby is getting all grumpy and i keep telling him i can only push so much. ill ring the broker tomorrow but in all honesty it was all fairmonts if they sent the council approval on the 20 th dec like they said they did we would have got things processed one bonus we were contacted by our neighbours as they are doing a boundry build so once we all cut our blocks we can meet them to discuss about retaining and fences. my dad took a look yesterday and said we will probably need more length on the retaining then we first thought but it will depend on how the blocks are cut fingers crossed we start soon! tammy your welcome to follow our build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64842 Block cut - 15th February 2014 Re: tristams first home 63Jan 19, 2014 10:28 am Hi Tammy that's exciting, I have Realty SA letter stating Settlement is Thursday the 30th so... 4 months late so it may all actually start in some fashion, although FH are yet to send me my revised plans due to footings and design changes....... I too will need to contact neighbours and start the fencing talks as I want it to go as Smooth as Possible. But I'm guessing it's a ways off yet. Not long now. That neighbour at 953 also shares a small part of our side fence which will be yours and their back fence. It will be good once all the cuts are done and we can see what retaining is needed. I have a quote for the rear of our block already, where the fence disaster occurred. We do the right thing with paperwork and keeping track of it and making sure we get it back promptly and unfortunately there seem to be a lot of stuff ups. You would think it would be as simple as them getting a copy from Realty SA, not having to do the certificate again. We had dramas with some paperwork that was meant to be provided to council, we were told it was, but it wasn't, then when council did receive it, it wasn't complete, so council did a site inspection themselves, all delays. Maybe try to focus on your kids and partner and doing enjoyable things with them, that have nothing to do with the house. There have been times when I had done everything I could, and was waiting on builder/council/RealtySA etc and just had to mentally disconnect from the process to maintain my sanity! I am really hoping this whole process is like pregnancy and birth - it is hard while it's happening but once it's done you forget about the sickness and pain and enjoy the results, please let it be that way for us both! Really to excited last night but calm today I think a mixture of tired and also little one not well. We also had to fix our lease for 6 months last week, I am so grateful the land lord allowed us. So it may turn out ok time for us Thank you again Jennifer80 for letting us know. I am so grateful I have great neighbours very close and only a few doors down that are such nice people. I don't have that hear where we are at the moment, the only reason I saw one neighbour is her tree lost a branch and she had to fix the fences. Also noticed that there were work men on some of the other sites, on a sunday! Surprised me I guess with the weather they are trying to catch up on lost time. tammy your welcome to follow our build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64842 Block cut - 15th February 2014 Re: tristams first home 77Feb 17, 2014 9:55 am Woohoo congrats tristam, its so exciting when they start!! you'll have a slab in no time My Build thread --- https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67313 Final Builders Interview - 18th Nov 13 Site Works - 11th Dec 13 Slab - 16th Dec 13 Frame - 7th Jan 14 Re: tristams first home 78Feb 17, 2014 9:58 am thanks misslibe I really hope so! lol tammy your welcome to follow our build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64842 Block cut - 15th February 2014 Re: tristams first home 79Feb 19, 2014 10:30 pm yahoo they cut our block and have lots of dirt to remove approximately 120 tonnes lol yes the sales guy told us there wouldnt be much, had a laugh at that my neighbour down the road sent me a picture of the dolomite delivered today yahoo we recieved our house number today from the council so a bit of movement this week so happy it has started one thing i am grateful for is great neighbours and a sense of a community that we belong too.
