So excited. Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 63Mar 02, 2014 10:19 pm Congratulations triggy. Can't be far way from footing and slab. Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 64Mar 02, 2014 10:21 pm Next door is building with Content-Living as well. They are at exactly the same stage as us. I wonder if it will stay timed together through the whole build. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 66Mar 02, 2014 10:57 pm mfga78 Triggy, Did you upgrade the included alfresco pavers? If so was it at prestart? We chose Brikmakers Granite 190x190x50 for the Alfresco which was the standard range, which is actually really nice. But for the driveway and veranda we upgraded to 330 x 330 x 60 (same colour) for extra strength and paid for the limestone sub base as it is not standard with CL. we didn't choose a separate border colour as we are extending the drive out after handover and couldn't justify the cost to rip it up again. If you want costs for any upgrades let me know and I can tell you what price your looking at roughly. We actually found them to be really reasonable on most things. See if you can get Karen for your Prestart, she was very happy to help when you change your mind. lol My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 67Mar 02, 2014 11:02 pm triggywiggy mfga78 Hi Everyone. I'm just about to sign up with CL, it was meant to be another but a change of events put a stop to that. It's been a long time to get to this point, and I still have my worries if I'm making the right choice, but you've gotta go with one of them right?! I've enjoyed reading everybody's posts with photos, it's the highlight of my Day sometimes.....addicted or passionate..., I think the latter. I will post stuff up once I know how to. I prefer pics on the thread as apposed to photo bucket, mainly because my ipad freaks out when I look at them on that for some reason. Hi mfga78 Welcome to the group. I have found CL to be wonderfully helpful, whatever i have asked they have gone out of their way to please me so far, and they seem to be one of the quicker builders to go to site as well. I don't think you would regret your decision. mfga78 Where are you building? My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 69Mar 02, 2014 11:36 pm I'm thinking of changing to alfresco to a concrete/grano pad, so I can tile it with outdoor tiles. Depends on price though. Can u PM me upgrade cost for limestone base and for you pavers also, thanks Triggy. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 72Mar 03, 2014 12:10 am mfga78 Yes I already have my titles. Which makes it quicker right. Yes it should do. Have your plans been drawn up yet or do you have a design your thinking of running with? My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 73Mar 03, 2014 12:18 am I have my design, it's a variation of the Antuco which I've changed a little bit, but hasn't been officially drawn up yet. I'm having a meeting next week to sign off and pay deposit. I just want to try and do all variations and get it in writing before I sign. I got to try and keep prestart upgrades to a min! From when u signed and paid deposit what has been the timeframe Triggy? From when u signed and paid deposit what has been the timeframe Triggy? We had quite a wait for the titles as we purchased the land in May last year. We paid our deposit to CL about 3 weeks after we paid the deposit on the land. But our titles didn't came through till the end of October and CL put in for Building Permits as soon as we settled on the land. CL had our building plans Passed through Joondalup Council before we even went to Pre-start at the end of Nov 13, (so make sure you do any structural changes before you pay your deposit or you might not be able to change your mind later.) Content had to actually wait on us for 5 weeks for my Bank to sort themselves out, so we have actually held the build up. As I said earlier they have been very efficient up to now and Im rely happy with our choice of builder so far. I have been told when the slab goes down we should be in in around 24 weeks. I have a friend who signed with WA Homegroup in Aug 13, she went to pre start 6 weeks before me and and she is still waiting for her slab to go down, she has been told end of March and to expect to be in around Easter 2015. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 76Mar 03, 2014 12:54 am Wow, sounds like its a good steady moving process then as long as all criteria is met. I'm sure it will be a emotional ride whatever happens, good emotions it sounds like though! I sent u a PM too Triggy. It must be past your bed tim!! Lol Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 77Mar 03, 2014 1:02 am mfga78 Triggy, did u receive a prestart folder before you did prestart? Yes, but we did. We also choose a lot of things ourselves from the same suppliers the weren't in there folder like toilets and sinks. But CL were really flexible with what you put in. As long as what you want has Passed Australian standards or has a Wells rating for plumbing items they are more than happy to let you supply it and they will fit it. I have supplied my own sinks and taps for the Kitchen. They credit you back the item and then just charge the fitting cost. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 79Mar 03, 2014 1:22 am So you reviewed the prestart folder and then found your own items then took a list when you went to prestart? or did u inform them about your own items before prestart? Sorry about all the questions Triggy! Re: Burns Beach Build Content-Living 80Mar 03, 2014 1:33 am I asked if I could choose other items or supply my own stuff and they said as long as it was made available by their suppliers or myself they were happy to use it.
