Air-conditioning pipes repaired--looks a mess! Instead of repairing the brick, the hole made to accommodate the pipe repair has been filled with silicon. Boo hoo. Still, it's on the side of the house which is too narrow for anyone to spend much time in and I'll forget about it over time. Might see if we can paint it in Monument colour.
Painter has painted the floor beading--I'm much, much happier with it. While the painter said he'd do everything in his power to get out of doing it, once he realised I would be very disappointed if he didn't agree to it, he did a really, really good job. He used white in the kitchen where the beading went around the cupboards as well as around the linen cupboard, and wall colour for the rest--he is a fantastic painter and takes pride in a job well done, so that was certainly lucky for me.
Front bricks have been rendered on the side and painted Monument, which matches well. Looks far better than the mortared holes. Will see how long it lasts. I'll try to remember to take a photo, FairmontSAcustom.
Fences completed; open slat pergola in; lovely front gate installed (was scratched but the fencing guy had the scratched slat replaced, and the scratch on the upright post fixed up and it all looks like new); landscaping done--the guys from Top Cat did an incredible job, including letterbox; appliances installed; electrician been to check everything; gas signed off as compliant; bricks cleaned today; and we move in tomorrow.
Will do!
I am also pretty in love with the inside of your house, make sure you keep us updated with moving in pics. They are my favourite!
The bricks are awesome, I agree. I am in love with FairmontSAcustom's Metallic Bronze, but my husband liked the Emery and now so do I. I think the chance of an uneven look on the Bronze might have annoyed me if the brickies didn't take care to lay them in a nice way, so overall, I'm very happy with the choice. I'll see if I can get some inside shots when we move in--we mostly will have all our old furniture though so might be a bit disappointing. I do have new desk and entertainment unit, which my brother-in-law assembled for us (thank you dear brother-in-law ) and they look fabulous, so will take a photo of them and show you, for sure.
For now, however, here's the finished outside:
Front--I couldn't be happier; it's just as I imagined.
Back--the plants will curl around the wires between the posts and help cover up the ugly big pole in the background. I can see my little dog jumping up on the planter boxes, playing in the mulch, and chasing his ball around on the pavers--again, just as I imagined. For exercise, he can run up and down the sides of the house, and of course he'll have lots of walks in around the wetlands, which are taking shape and promising to be awesome.

Money has all gone, but overall I think we have value for what we have spent.
Oh, and they even opened the railway station on Sunday, just in time for me taking up residence.
Thank you everyone who has posted to my thread for being with me on this journey. Your words of wisdom along the way, sharing commiserations and celebrations, and giving encouragement when doubt took over, have been fantastic. Join me once more in celebration.
