Our vanity basins were silver and the water heater bronze, but I hope they don't come in silver and bronze colours. Today we have insulation and gyprock has been delivered. Pics as soon as I get them from the camera. Re: _lucinda's house 345Oct 18, 2013 5:37 pm Wow, that duct work is amazing. Your build is flying along Lucinda, be able to move in before you know it Re: _lucinda's house 346Oct 18, 2013 6:30 pm Bricks on the bay window that no longer has windows on the side http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/jjzs/samples/bay_bricks_zps5d32c699.jpg And the other side of the bay--it doesn't look odd at all, just a bit different http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/jjzs/samples/baybricks2_zpsce74a425.jpg And insulation and gyprock. Most of the internal wall insulation is in place, but not much in the ceiling yet. Already the difference in noise level is amazing. I'm so happy with it. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/jjzs/samples/insulation_zps1e50d8e6.jpg Re: _lucinda's house 347Oct 18, 2013 6:33 pm Love the bricks sparkling in the sunshine. Agree with the bay Re: _lucinda's house 348Oct 18, 2013 6:57 pm Thanks, Fairmont. I can't believe how exciting it is to be able to see the progress as it actually happens. I'm a bit overwhelmed to tell you the truth. Workers were there again today--didn't take any photos as they were busy at work and I didn't want to be in the way. I think they might have started with the gyprock, but not sure, I'll check tomorrow. Has anyone ever had a problem with wanting a shelf under kitchen sink and laundry tub? They've told me I can't have shelves because they won't fit with the plumbing installed. I've said all along I wanted shelves in all cupboards, but of course I missed the fact that there were no dotted shelf lines on the master drawings--although it was pretty hard to tell what was what. I've always had shelves and I'm rather disappointed. Would it be possible to have them fitted afterwards?--that I would have thought would have been more difficult. I'll ask in the kitchen thread too. That aside, we've also been told kitchen in four weeks! We haven't even signed off on the joinery plans yet. Re: _lucinda's house 354Oct 21, 2013 6:49 pm My kitchens have always had shelf under sink. Laundry doesn't but that's be find as store buckets and stuff in there haha Re: _lucinda's house 355Oct 23, 2013 12:05 am Its coming together so fast, the bricks look sweet and I agree the bricked bay looks good. Re: _lucinda's house 356Oct 23, 2013 8:06 am Everything is looking great Lucinda! I really like how that bay looks with the sliding door, I know you were worried about it but it honestly looks like it's supposed to be there As for the shelving, you can have them. A hole will just need to be cut in the shelf to allow the plumbing to pass through. The house we live in now has it, if you can imagine almost a U shape, the shelf just slots around the plumbing, you can put anything behind the pipes but can use all around it and a bit in front. A regular shelf and some crafty work with a jigsaw should do the trick for a quick fix! Re: _lucinda's house 358Oct 24, 2013 8:57 am Thanks LeanneR, good point about buckets. Thanks SA Simonds Sierra, deluxes and hachy. It's unbelievable how fast it's gone. Deluxes and hachy, I've always had a shelf in my sink and tub cupboards so I'm just used to having them and was surprised to see on the masterplans "no shelf". We've signed off on the drawings now, so no shelves it is, but I will have them fitted afterwards. Tuesday the gyprock went in: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/jjzs/samples/gyprock_zps98258796.jpg And this sign appeared on the window: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/jjzs/samples/gliderol_zps38b0e11c.jpg And yesterday, didn't take photos because they were too busy at work, but the gyprock joins were finished.
