Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Meowsy's Montrose- site start first week in August 61Aug 20, 2013 6:32 pm Delays are definitely very frustrating especially when you can't wait to see things moving.. But I guess on the other side, I would rather they take their time and do it right rather than rush just to get it done and get their money. Re: Meowsy's Montrose- site start first week in August 62Aug 20, 2013 6:45 pm yes, but what I find it hard to take is that the winds were only 25-35kmph, for the last 2 days, and all week it is similar. They are not exactly strong winds.... I looked at the observations and frankly if they can't lay the waffle in those kinds of winds I don't know when they will be able to.... Re: Meowsy's Montrose- site start first week in August 64Aug 20, 2013 9:12 pm Hi meowsy. Looks like we are building together. Our slab was meant for tomorrow but now is booked for Friday. Seems strange to me tomorrow is going to be the best day of the week weather wise. Re: Meowsy's Montrose- site start first week in August 65Aug 21, 2013 2:40 pm claire, glad you are remaining optimistic! BackPocket, good luck for Friday slab pour They did all the prep work for our slab today and will be poured tomorrow weather permitting... I would have thought the concrete would need to be poured on the day the waffle etc is laid but who knows! We've gotten to know another couple a few houses down quite well (met them on here actually ), I can see us catching up over bbq and drinks for many years to come. They are just lovely! I'm sure there will be some singles in the street, the PD singles only take 18 weeks so you should definitely have some neighbours I'd say. Big houses seem to take a bit longer Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Meowsy's Montrose- we have a slab! 75Aug 26, 2013 2:32 pm our neighbour we have met has no kids and lives with their parents in a big double storey (different strokes for different folks so not exactly like us I feel a bit sorry for whoever does move in next door as no doubt we will be the noisiest house in the street...lovely that you got friendly neighbours! Re: Meowsy's Montrose- Roof on, bricks delivered. Pics! 76Sep 07, 2013 1:32 pm Claire, well, you can share your kids with them The roof is now on, bricks have been delivered and will start next week. I love the colour, I can't wait to see them in place! I think it is going to look really nice with the surfmist fascia over the eaves and the light bricks. There were a few tradies there today so they invited us in to have a look. Nice bunch of young guys Here are the bricks all in place to be laid! We only have a one child family so it should be a nice size for us. The timber windows and front door look great though, also the sidelight glass is 'rice paper' which you can't see very well on the photo. I am amazed at how fast it's going up Meowsy! We only had our frame finished on Friday according to my DH. Roof next week and bricks the week after that. Can't wait to see your bricks when they go up. Re: Meowsy's Montrose- Roof on, bricks delivered. Pics! 78Sep 07, 2013 5:15 pm BP, Yes, it is so good to see things happening, the whole street is a hive of activity actually If I remember rightly, you are having similar bricks aren't you? I can't remember the other colours you have to go with the bricks though... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Meowsy's Montrose- Roof on, bricks delivered.
