Adelaide 3May 09, 2013 10:07 pm deluxes To give you a bit of an indication... My trenches were dug July 2nd 2005. And I had handover November 25th. So, a 4.5 month build, In a regional area... Didn't really have many delays at all. All the delays were with the council stuff leading up to it! I can't remember what the weather was like, but I do know that there were rainy days. Once the roof is on, the weather isn't that much of an issue in regards to delays, and it takes no time for the framework and bricks to happen... So I wouldn't get too worried. It didn't affect my build in the slightest! Spring is traditionally really rainy as well in Adelaide, so you could argue not to do it then either... Same with the heat of summer and the New Years delay when work stops in Dec/Jan. So effectively if you delay your build till October, you'll have work stop completely mid December till Mid Jan when the building industry grinds to a halt for Christmas. That will be more frustrating. Just my 2c anyway.
