Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Build No.2 with Cont3nt - Baldivis - Build loan quotes?? 21Jul 09, 2013 2:36 pm So we were informed today that our bank now requires us to collect quotes to finish our house before they will grant us the build loan! Umm what the hell?? Apparently its because the house is used as security but surely I don't need to go to Bunnings and get a price for a letterbox or do I?? Did anyone else have to do this and if so what did you get quotes on? So far I have quotes for carpets, wood flooring, painting, solar panels, paving and aircon. Do you think that should be enough?? Re: Build No.2 with Cont3nt Liv1ng - Baldivis 22Jul 09, 2013 4:43 pm I assume you only need to finish it with blinds, floors and so on. You shouldn't need quote for letterbox. We only supplied quotes for air con & floor as we wanted cost included in mortgage. The rest we are paying cash so didn't provide anything Re: Build No.2 with Cont3nt Liv1ng - Baldivis 23Jul 09, 2013 5:29 pm It may be to do with how much is being borrowed... If you borrow over a certain % of the value of the house the want to know that it will be finished so if you default they can sell it. We had to have flooring and blinds etc included in the cost of the build. Though I wish I had known we could have included it but as a quote rather then having the builder do it! Hrmmm, might have to speak to our loan lady as I think she may be getting confused then. We only intend to borrow for our build with the builder which is only 70% of the value and we are paying for the finishing with cash so maybe she is thinking we want it included?? Re: Build No.2 with Cont3nt Liv1ng - Baldivis 25Sep 09, 2013 4:13 pm Well 2 months on and what can I say... NOTHING has happened. Prestart costings were dragged out 6 weeks as our prestart lady didnt have her own email address so had to email the general email addy which then got forwarded through to her. Mix this in with 52 changes and waiting on engineers to give prices is absolutley chaotic but we got there in the end! Now waiting on our unconditional approval which should take a week or two as we already did the preapproval and they had all our details but no, our lady entered our costings in wrong so had to redo all the documents so our 2 weeks wait has now been changed to 3! I thought my last build paperwork took a long time but I think this one trumphs it! Sorry to rant but I am sick and frankly quite over it! In other news we have some neighbours!!! Their pad went down the other day which is good as it means less dust coming our way I am a little annoyed however as there is suppose to be a street going through to the school (was on the estate site plans) but this seems to not be the case as they have finished off all the roads. Anyways for anyone that reads this I thought you would like an update RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Anyways for anyone that reads this I thought you would like an update Hey Rhiannon, your neighbour to be down the road ! Sorry to hear progress has been slow, any update over the last month ? We are cracking on with the brickwork now on ours as your neighbour has just got theirs completed I think. I was wondering about that road, maybe I'll nip in and ask the land rep and ask - it's OK if you have a 4WD !??? Brickies have started and it seems to be going up quite fast. Our liaison officer told us that they may take up to 6 weeks but it has only been 2 and they are 50% complete so fingers crossed we only have another 2 weeks to go I haven't been up your street for a while so will have to drive past you house!! Did you see the new park they are putting up down the road, I think it looks great! 2 Cupcakes PLS, you are more than welcome to steal our linen We just had a quote for doors to go on and it will be around $1600 which is for any range which I thought was fantastic We have had some quote but our biggest cost so far it the hardwood floors which will cost us around 18k RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Build No.2 with Cont3nt Liv1ng - Baldivis 31Nov 27, 2013 10:39 pm Also... Has anyone had any quotes for Reverse cycle ducted aircon?? Like everyone we are hoping to get the best unit possible for the best price but so far have had quotes ranging from 9k up to 14k and we really don't know what the difference is in each unit. I also noticed that Parry's flooring is opening up in Baldivis in Dec so hoping to get a good deal on carpet RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! I'd like to know when the shops will arrive next to the school. I spoke to "happy" Robert in the land sales office yesterday about the link road to the school next to you lot and he thinks it should be put in eventually . Thanks for joining the FB group, I will get some flyers done to try and get some more people on board after Christmas. Will be so handy to just walk down for bread and milk rather than having to drive to the settlers hills deli or Coles. I would love to know what play equipment they will put in. I can see some swings and little hopper thing and hopefully a mixed age climber. House is coming along quite well if I do say so myself lol Can't wait for lock up but I guess with xmas coming up we may have a few delays RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate!
