Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 07, 2013 4:06 pm Can anyone recommend a good landscaper? I have been quoted over $30,000 for landscaping through Wisdom Homes which is just crazy! We have opted for the most basic of landscape and design so I feel we are being ripped off. Also any recommendations for fencing and driveways would be great! Re: Landscaping in Georges Fair 2May 07, 2013 6:56 pm Hi mrsmoorebank. We too are in georges fair and felt the landscape quote provided by wisdom was excessive too. We used cons fencing for the fence. He was great on price and got the job done quick. As for the landscaping, we have decided to do it ourselves to save some $$$ We did get wisdom to do the driveway though. Re: Landscaping in Georges Fair 3May 08, 2013 11:47 am Thank you for your response! I will get in touch with Con's Fencing. I can vouch for Cons Fencing also he did most of the fences around where I am. As a matter of interest what would you think was a reasonale cost for landscaping? Would you price it as a percentage of the cost of the build or just put in what you can afford? Re: Landscaping in Georges Fair 5May 14, 2013 3:48 pm We hadn't thought too much about it. As a guide we expected to pay around $3,000 for turf, not $8,000. And for the driveway we expected around $5,000 not $10,000. We have the most basic of landscape plans. We have just included the requirements for Georges Fair so it was quite a shock to recieve such a high quote. Re: Landscaping in Georges Fair 8Aug 22, 2014 4:31 pm hi,I have questions about retaining walls. Developer required masonry retaining walls to be used, but I've seen people use treated pine retaining walls. Masonry walls are a lot more expensive than treated pine... Does it matter if I use pine retaining walls as others? What would happen? Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement. We have an old 50's house with masonite everywhere and nails popping out, warping, rusted etc.… 0 3025 Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations… 5 5572 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 31767 |
