Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Tips for queuing up for purchase of land. what time???? 21May 10, 2013 4:58 pm I'm here in the NT where land is scarce and extremely over priced , the only option here is by ballot. But I'm sure if there was an option to camp out there would be hundreds of people and we would have a ball! Re: Tips for queuing up for purchase of land. what time???? 22May 11, 2013 9:58 am I also don't understand that they use a ballot system. It must be a government regulated thing? Because surely if it's private or developer sale and that much demand then they'd just keep pushing the price up until highest bidder got it. Government must be involved to cap the prices I guess!... anyone know? Within 3 days the whole release was sold out (Hammond Heights). Apparently stage 1, 2 , 3 and most of 4 are all sold out now and they only just started building stage 2. (We are in stage 1) Re: Tips for queuing up for purchase of land. what time???? 25May 18, 2013 10:30 pm Recently queued up for the Ridgeline 2 release at The Ponds this week. Today was sale day and we were able to get a lot that we liked. The email came out on tuesday and there was already people queuing up. By the end of the day there was about 45 people in the queue who stayed there overnight. The priority tickets email was sent out on wednesday and we got there around midday and were able to pick one of the remaining blocks and get our priority ticket. Today, there was the priority list that had 73 people with nominated lots, with another 80 people on the queue afterwards, there was about 5 no shows. There was only 2 blocks at 638 and 700 sqm, most were after those. Its the last of the land close to the original Frankland Springs Estate. Blocks weren't of a huge size, but demand was on that street as it was quite, close the park, down the street from the new school and shops and pub with in walking distance. We already live in the original part of Hammond Park and love the area, need a bigger house and was waiting for this land release for a year. So didn't want to miss out. All 5 who camped from the Tuesday were all living or have lived in Hammond Park too, so we all knew the demand on the land. We have been told by the sales office and even guessed it, but the next release will be more expensive as they sold all but 4 lots on the first day. When there is demand the prices will go up! Re: Tips for queuing up for purchase of land. what time???? 28May 26, 2013 7:00 pm This is just amazing to me from Brisbane where land releases take months to slowly sell! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Tips for queuing up for purchase of land. what time???? 29May 26, 2013 10:50 pm Land can take awhile to sell here too. Depends on location, distance from the city/beach. Hammond Park is on the free way to city, only land available on the freeway that close to the city. It is the quickest growing area in Aust at the moment (according to the news anyway) Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7223 Thank you so much.
