But apparently our tiler made a point of telling him that he doesn't put anything down the drains. What a decent chap! Grass looks nice. Whenever I've looked at it it's been very expensive - is that your experience? That dog is adorable!! Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 843Mar 29, 2014 4:20 pm Finally our burst pipe has been fixed. Don't need anymore dramas! But there's no sign of roof plumber who's supposed to come and fix our gutters.... :/ Mandy, yes they're quite expensive but we only have two small patches (about 16m2). $1200 supply + install. Jeepers! That is expensive! Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 845Mar 29, 2014 8:40 pm I guess it depends what you are comparing it to. It's still cheaper than washed aggregate, tiling and our paving lol...We have over 100m2 of fake grass going in so will get it for a better price but in the grand scheme of things you also only get what you pay for the fake grass to buy can vary from as little as $20m2-$40m2 and install we've been quote as much as $90m2 just to install which is crazy... So $75m2 installed is reasonable... Do check them but the cause of our problem was a burst pipe Older dog doesn't know the difference, the younger one wasn't keen at the beginning but got used to it quite quickly. Humans love it, because it means we don't have to do anything to maintain some nice green lawn. We were going to get the front done as well but it's way over budget. We're going to get a garden with low maintenance plants in the front. Lol had to edit my last post oasis is currently our first option we were leaning towards the Emerald originally which has the nice lush green colour but the salesman convinced us to go and look at a garden with Oasis which is a more realistic colour with some brown tones through it Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 850Mar 31, 2014 1:35 am Cannot believe all that shower drain rubble! Is the rubble, wc and gutter issue sorted? Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 852Apr 11, 2014 8:51 pm Serialbuilder Hiya Janicec. How are you settling in now? Is the rubble, wc and gutter issue sorted? yeah getting there SB hopefully our gutter and soaked eave will be fixed tomorrow. And no I agree with you, it doesn't seem to. We have officially given up. Your house is looking beautiful though, am looking forward to some more update pics Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 855Apr 11, 2014 9:25 pm jaceb i know right. It just gets worse. Thanks SB, we haven't done much, work has been busy so not much to update. Will be going furniture shopping this weekend and do some more unpacking. Need to find my mojo again (which has disappeared after all the issues after we moved in). Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 856Apr 11, 2014 9:44 pm You will get it back I promise, it will be good and then one day you'll look around and you'll have that aaaahhhhh moment. I'm about to post last pics for our home before I close the thread, just transferring to photobucket now. I can't believe how slack I've been with those. I used to love doing updates haha. We are pretty much done and even DH has had motivation to finish a few things off for me. We are still very disappointed with how things have been finished off by the builders trades and the fact that NO ONE EVER follows up but we just don't care anymore. We will be fixing the most annoying things ourselves when time and money allow it but all in all I think it's turned out lovely. Have a good weekend and enjoy unpacking more boxes Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 857Apr 15, 2014 1:54 pm Serialbuilder You will get it back I promise, it will be good and then one day you'll look around and you'll have that aaaahhhhh moment. A few others have asked about this, thought I'd share it here we used Steele Blue, Shane is very reliable and up front with all charges. Not the cheapest but they did an awesome job. Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - synthetic lawn <3 860May 22, 2014 9:40 pm it's been a while since we last updated this thread, been super busy and haven't had time to do much for the house. We've finally had our front garden done, it's nice to see some greens through the windows
We've search high and low for white furniture we both like and finally bought the Aspen dining table and matching coffee table from At Home Furniture. We've also got some Besta white glass cabinets from good old Ikea. I'm loving the black/white/grey minimalist theme through out Our front garden looks a little bit sparse at the moment and we decided to do the short paved path with pebbles ourselves.... oh dear, that's back breaking labour! I like the end result though My raised bed at the back is all set up and herbs are not dead yet, maybe there is potential to improve my track record Roof and gutter issues have been sorted FINALLY! (we'll know for sure after tonight's storm I guess!). There's still leaky bits at the corner of the alfresco but I've decided to leave it til the 180 days maintenance in September. I seriously don't have the patience to deal with hopeless tradesmen from the builder anymore. Still a few things to do but it feels a lot more like home and we're definitely enjoying it. I especially love cooking in my kitchen Bonus shot: this was from the last down pour, CCTV camera or fish bowl? Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
