If we had gone with tiles in the living areas i would have chosen those. Sort of a concrete look. Your WIR is fabulous. We were very happy with lifestyle too. All the best for the last bits. BUILDER SUMMIT HOMES | DESIGN THE MONACO 248 » Our Build Thread Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - downlights 786Mar 04, 2014 9:33 pm //Warning //whingy post ahead <whinge> We discovered our front door is a bit d0dgy only after we started using it ourselves (note to others, don't let your SS plays gentleman and opens all the doors for you!). SS came the next day to check it out and said he will organise the carpenter to come out and fix it, and our CL will let us know of the date/time. Nothing has happened after nearly a week so I emailed CL last Thursday and she told me the carpenter has been and gone, even met with hubby on site . I told her 100 times hubby hasn't met with any carpenters and no work has been done, the door is locked at all time and we would know if someone has come to fix it, right? CL keeps telling nothing is outstanding... Many emails later I got impatient and asked her for evidence of work done by the carpenter, seriously how can he fix anything when the door is locked!? She told me the carpenter has adjusted the door hinges (which wasn't the problem in the first place!!) from the outside with the door closed. I ask HOW? really? I asked her why she would take the carpenter's words for it but she wouldn't believe us that no carpenter has been? Which door has he fixed!? perhaps not the one in our house? I said to her I'm not going to let this go and I will pursue this until work is done to our satisfaction. Then she said SS will come out tomorrow and inspect it again. It's the same as he saw it the last time! It sounds like there is a miscommunication between the carpenter, SS, and CL. It's just ridiculous it took 16 emails to get our CL to address it. Well, at least I don't have to call Mr Aveling's mobile to get it done this time. That's an improvement!! </whinge> Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - GRRRR 787Mar 04, 2014 10:00 pm Unbelievable! What reason would you have to lie about it? And what is getting the SS to come and look at something that hasn't been done, going to do? However, you're lucky to get any response at all now they've had your money. Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - GRRRR 788Mar 05, 2014 12:31 am It's crazy isn't it!? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time. The thing that really gets me is she insisted the carpenter has fixed it and nothing is outstanding... will see how it goes tomorrow! Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - GRRRR 789Mar 05, 2014 12:34 am Grrrrr if the left hand knew what the right hand was doing things would get done right the first time and all the following up chasing up wouldn't even be required Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - GRRRR 790Mar 05, 2014 10:08 am Very frustrating! Strange that your CL insisted it was done when it wasn't, she was probably thinking you were just gonna let it go but good you stood your ground. Which company did you get your shutters from? Sorry I'm being lazy and not finding the info on your thread as I'm sure you've mentioned it before! I think they may have gone too far forward with your fence, how are they going to put a gate in if it joins to your meter box? Your NBN box is also quite far back, so will the gate go in between? Shutters and rollers are from Curtin World. Yes the NBN box is weird, SS said the gate needs to be behind it. will see if we can get away with putting it in between Re: Aveling build in Landsdale - shutters :) 798Mar 06, 2014 5:34 pm That pretty much looks like ours at the front - the fence doesn't go all the way to the end of the retaining wall but it does pass the end the house. I feel like you need one last thin panel so people can't look directly into your window from next door! Still waiting for Stockland to get back to me. Our fence has been installed right to the end of our retaining wall. Ours was meant to finish at the end of the house but there must of been some miscommunication with the fence guy...he kept going to the end of the retaining wall. Im glad he couldn't follow instructions because it's much better the way he did it.
