But, then again that makes me biased.. Haha. Hahahaha I tend to LOVE a biased opinion! It is the one stupid thing that has been on my mind for almost a month now! Ridiculous! Mal 142Mar 18, 2014 10:14 pm Update... We have finally decided on the tiles after much deliberation. We chose the darker option for the bathrooms. We went a nice light 600x600mm porcelain main floor tile. So glad we have made a decision! After fixing up the tile plan with Italia Ceramics, I went for a ponder over the paint selection options that Dechellis have given us. One thing that annoys me is that they don't give us a white option. They all have a hint of brown, cream, purple, blue, pink and I hate it with a passion. I honestly would like them to paint the walls the same colour as the ceilings, but it may require additional coats which would end up costing more. Whingeee!!! I decided that I would go on a mission to the Dechellis St Clair display homes armed with my many paint sample cards and compare what they had used. I felt a lot more relaxed after seeing some of the different hues they had used together with the tiles to create warmth. I am somewhat inspired So after having such a high after the weekend I tackled my usual Monday morning shenanigans at work and my soon to be next door neighbour messaged me to inform me that I had a wooden stake put on the land as a marker with a letter attached. I went out to investigate and I was right then and there informed that the Malalla Council have been approved for a Community Wastewater Management System (CWMS) which means that they are now converting the entire town from septic tanks to mains. Awesome.......! Well it would be if we hadn't have signed on for a $14,000 eco septic system which converts all of our water use in a sustainable way for irrigation use on our garden. I love the idea of this, but if we can save that much money and use it for something more important at the moment, then it would be awesome! Our house is proposed to be finished in December and the project manager for the CWMS has proposed the community will be switched to mains by March, 2015. This means that we need a temporary septic tank for 3 months. Dechellis have advised us to push our start and finish date back again What if the project doesn't go to plan and it's longer than predicted. I don't want to wait 2 years to live in my house. I know 3 months doesn't matter in the big scheme of things, but right now, it does! I feel sad and wish that we had just bought a built house. Hopefully find out from the Council what we can do tomorrow... sigh! I have been enjoying the dark floor tiles that I've been seeing on The Block, especially in the bathrooms so I'm hoping the choices for our bathrooms works out. Where are you building and who with?? Mal 145Mar 20, 2014 6:12 am Just reading your colour choices on the last page and you have done very well. Beautiful colours! I love, love, love that feature tile in the bathroom too. How will you run it? Up the back of the shower? Or up behind bath? Will it be both bathroom and ensuite? I'm trying to work out what I want in bathroom and ensuite now and it's overwhelming!! Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69984 If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. Re: One small step for most, one giant leap for us in... Thanks CountryHome. The feature tile is going to be run up one wall of the shower and around the bath in the 2nd bathroom and along the back wall of the ensuite (I'm a little worried it could be overused in the ensuite). I hated picking out tiles. It was the hardest job aside from saving the deposit for the finance! Where are you building? Mal 147Mar 20, 2014 6:18 pm I'm building in perth , with redink. We are at tile stage now . My light tiles are for my living area . We have gone dark in oue ensuite . Black on floor and off white on walls my feature tile is dark too . My bench top is like a brown ( sort of I think ) and my cupboards are dark too . My feature tile will go across the whole wall of the spa aswell as under the mirror and the nib wall . Dark sets the mood lol . Oh love love the block a bit sick of all that wood features though . My other bathrooms are different gone with more browns . You can check it out on my blog Melsie . Do I need to concern about this pattern of crack? Is this crack showing some signs of bigger problems? Thanks for any suggestions! 1 1911 Thank you. That is really helpful.
