Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 03, 2013 5:12 pm Hi everyone! Can anyone recommend the best company to secure a Home And Contents Insurance? Thanks! Re: Home and Content Insurance Perth 2May 03, 2013 5:33 pm You get what you pay for is ever so true in Insurance (I am in Insurance Management in SA) however it doesn't have to bust the bank either... Read everything carefully. A new wave of budget insurers are sweeping Aus, and unfortunately the business end of the deal - when you really actually need them to live up to promises - falls flat more often than not. The Suncorp group are quite reputable, so GIO in WA. Insurance is a bit of a grudge purchase for most, and every man and his dog will have a story about every company "my mate was with xxxx and they screwed him over etc". Cheapest isn't always best, all products might look the same on paper, but the reality is vastly different. Personally, i really am looking for a reasonably priced insurance and one whom i can rely on when the time comes. I know they all say nice things about why we should choose them, which makes it so hard to decide so im after people who actually have had good experiences from their own insurance companies. I used to work for the Sun group, left in 2011. Vero are specialized for the bank sector and intermediate sector (like brokers) ie you can't call them direct. You deal through a third party, like your bank or broker. They are very good and have a lot of coverage. Re: Home and Content Insurance Perth 8May 03, 2013 10:39 pm I have RAC. However I haven't made a claim yet (touch wood) so can't help you on positive or negatives on that side of things. If you are already an RAC member you get a further discount on a combined policy. SGIO are in the same group of companies as NRMA Insurance Recently moved to a 60's home in need of some improvement! http://s797.photobucket.com/user/leenii ... ch%20House Old house: http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy25 ... loo/House/ Re: Home and Content Insurance Perth 11May 04, 2013 7:16 am I'm going to step in here with my 2 cents worth... I had to do a large insurance claim 8 years ago, I had a rental property which was burned to the ground by the tenant, it ended up being a full rebuild. I had full house replacement insurance at the time with my bank - Westpac, let me just say that they bent over backwards and did their upmost to assist me, since then I have always personally felt that it was prudent where possible, to insure my home with whomever held my mortgage, as they have a vested interest in paying out to the customer. Thanks for the information... My homeloan is with bankwest so might try and see them about their insurance... I'll look into westpac as well Hi Suku18 In NSW the statutory required insurances are: 1.
