Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 02, 2013 1:27 pm Hi all I've been reading through these threads for months now and have decided to jump in with my own thread. I'm a first home buyer building the Brooklyn by Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm. I've signed my initial contract with statesman on 31st march and have just lodged my land contract with my mortgage broker to hopefully (fingers crossed) have formal approval for my loan, the land portion atleast. I haven't noticed any holes in my land yet, but hanging out for that day. havent noticed any other andrews farm builders here but have noticed a few statesman/hickies builders. Looking forward to hearing from u all Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 2May 02, 2013 1:40 pm hi megs25, as you probably know from reading the forum i am building with hickies aswell. we considered andrews farm and munno para west but found bigger land at a cheaper price in the barossa. what do you mean by holes in your land? h Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 3May 02, 2013 1:43 pm Hi Megs we are building with Statsman up in Mt barker, building the Hampstead but don't settle on land for a while yet Look forward to seeing you build! Building in andrews farm if a big jump for me. I'm used to living only 9 km's from the city and 8 km's from work to now travel 30 + km's to work and city is huge! I couldn't imagine going further out lol Oh the holes i was talking about is where they do your soil report etc... Im sick of seeing just plain land hehe but Its only just started for me i know. Long way to go. Hi davelle I've been reading ur posts and it looks like you've got quite a few neighbors to have a block party with! Lol I have to settle on land before 28th june. Thanks Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 6May 02, 2013 2:38 pm you might not see any holes if soil reports have already been done at an earlier date unless you have requested them to be done at your own cost. if the land is in an estate they go on bore holes from other blocks aswell as yours. you should get your masterplans and engineers report together. Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 7May 02, 2013 4:01 pm Yeah i think they do it for each block because the block across from us had holes in their ground.... I'm hoping to get those 2 soon but thats still about 5 weeks away isn't it? Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 8May 02, 2013 4:53 pm Hi Megs25, Welcome We are building with Hickinbotham (a modified Harrington Alfresco) up at Mount Barker, on the Block party street! Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 14May 03, 2013 9:55 am Now your talking!!! Re-coup some of these costs... Just got an email from my rep saying that the Hickinbotham May promo is $33,000 of upgrades for $5,000. A lot of those we were doing anyway, so our quote is getting re-adjusted. Not sure of exactly whats included, but we are signing on the dotted line on Sunday anyway! Uhh YES! Hachy! We need to mix it up a bit Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 15May 03, 2013 10:06 am Nice work haha I thought you'd already signed!!! We did the 26k upgrades for free with statesman back when we signed, a lot of the things they include are kind of standard things but definitely worth it we got all the things we were upgrading for free in the promo haha haha Hachy as long as some panadol comes with it! Had it booked in for this sunday (we are also doing the official land contracts then too). So, i'm glad I dragged my heels! lol Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 17May 03, 2013 10:23 am Wel yes i suppose we could gate crash lol i guess we will have felt we know each other by then! Yeah the second living area is what drew me in. especially for the price. As I'm building by myself, I'm on such a strict budget. I'll probably be eating baked beans and 2 min noodles for the next 8 months haha Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 18May 03, 2013 11:15 am I signed and got the promo of 10k off the price of the house then the next week they had the 26k worth of stuff free promo. Bugger! But i think alot of it that was in it, i am doing after handover Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 19May 03, 2013 5:43 pm so just a question.... at what point does the state government say yep you've qualified for the first home owners grant and construction build? like... which contract do you have to sign by 30th june? the initial one you sign with the sales consultant at statesman or the master plans or the construction loan? Re: First home with Statesman Homes in Andrews Farm SA 20May 03, 2013 5:53 pm Statesman should submit on your behalf... Did you fill in the forms? The contract is the one to construct a new home, so that's the one with Statesman. You won't actually see the grants? They get paid with the first draw down or invoice that the builder sends to the bank. I never saw mine, all just happened behind the scenes! Usually gets paid after the slab. I never "officially" heard, just saw it on paperwork Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 11 40691 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27037 Ask for references and speak to them.
