Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 01, 2013 3:40 pm We have a design and we are really keen to have bifold doors opening onto our north facing grass area. At the moment the grass area is about 12m from house to fence, which is a nice amount of grass. We are not keen to have the bifold doors opening onto a patio as this would take away from that 12m, eat away into it. The only other option we could do is to have the patio built on the lefthand side of the house. YOu would get to it from the dining area, from the plan (attached) you can see it. Personally I would have preferred to one day have a pool in the space where the patio will be. Even though we live in QLD, we do not use our patio in the house we currently have. In the new build we would just have the bifold doors open and have breezes flowing through the house that way, but for resale value would this be a huge negative if we do not have a patio - and would it be ok if we just had it on the left hand side instead on eating away into our grass area. If we did put a patio in - is it acceptable, or weird to have it off the TV Lounge? I know in the attachment we have a potential patio off the dining, but if we moved the patio down and have it coming off the Tv Lounge - then in the future we can put small pool coming off LHS of dinging instead. Would love to hear any feedback, PS How do I attach an image???
