If you have a good SS I think you’ll be fine. Fingers crossed.

I'm wondering if they are falling towards the darker side where quality isn't paramount anymore... 1 of the review is about costs being added, I would assume this is site costs 1 is about build standard (No response to this, Arden have responded to other reviews) 1 is about a fall in the site being too much. We know on here that someone has a large fall and they chose Arden because they would do what they wanted. So overall, it looks to be only the quality of build that is a real reason for a low score, which we have seen on here some examples of this. Unless there is over 50(?) Reviews the average can't be used. Re: Arden Developments 2644Dec 12, 2017 10:33 am Manj The google reviews for Arden is now 3.6 ...big drop from 4.3 the last time I checked.... I know I'm guilty of only leaving reviews for company's when I've had a bad experience and I think that's similar for builders. My experience with Arden so far has been 5 star. In the lead up to him quitting, he was lacking in management of my build. He forgot that I had engaged NHI and forgot to let me know in advance that he was close to lockup stage. He gave me 2 days notice, but luckily NHI were available the next morning to do an inspection. The inspection was carried out in the morning and I got a call from NHI informing me of all the defects and advising not to proceed with the plaster until the defects were addressed. I tried calling my SS immediately. No answer. Left a voicemail instructing him not to proceed with plaster. Sent him a text and email to not proceed with plaster. No response. I check my site the day after and all the plaster is up. Tried calling, texting and emailing asking him WTF!?! I got one email back that read, “I'll get back to you with some notes about the report soon”. That was the last I heard from him for about a week until I contacted the office where they told me he no longer worked for Arden and they were trying to find another SS to assign to my build and apologised for the delay. About 2 weeks later, they still couldn't find an SS, so now it's being handled by the regional construction manager, who rang me and told me he's received the pre plaster report and will address the defects in there, including tearing down the plaster. Which is a relief!! So, I think they got screwed by an employee and are now cleaning up his mess, which is a credit to them for not just dismissing the defects because plaster was already up. I still have confidence and a positive view of Arden. Sorry to hear about all the issues that you went through .. but on the positive side it’s great to hear Arden is addressing this because end of the day what matters is that you have paid a great deal of $$$$$ and you want your home to be build to the best of the standard ... good luck with the rest .. keep us posted _________________________________________ Regards Manj https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88256 Re: Arden Developments 2657Dec 12, 2017 5:11 pm laijer Just to share my current experience with Arden and with my site supervisor quitting a couple of weeks ago. Some people generally get excellent trades, and some need a bit more attention to detail. Nothing's perfect, but what matters more is Arden's willing to pay attention to the problems and do what's right for the customer. I do hope everyone who builds with Arden gets the same commitment to customer satisfaction and do what's right for their customers. My experience with them so far (up to contract/post contract stage) are also good. Compared to what I'm reading on other builder's forums, I can't complain. Keeping fingers crossed that this continues throughout the build. It was an absolute nightmare... very negative .... I lodged the application and then after 3 jolly weeks they get back to me saying the location I marked on the application for pit is incorrect. So same day got the markings sorted and resubmitted and then called to see how it was the next day. Their call centre tells me its now in order and will take 20 business days to process. I said 'hang on but you have already taken 15 business days' and they tell me the verification process was what my application went through and then it takes 20 business days from there on wards to provide the quote. I asked the agent "where ...exactly ....where it tells that the application takes 35 business days??"., I told them to correct their application to reflect that amount of days if that's the case without misleading people. Called their Customer resolution Manager and explained that their application needs revision since clearly its misleading people.. 2 days after on a Saturday I get the quote... seriously I cannot comprehend how these places are run ... _________________________________________ Regards Manj https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88256 |
