And did you have to have any special arrangements with your electricity retailer to be able to "sell back" excess power to the grid? Would be good to hear your feedback on this. Tnx. I didn't get the Tesla powerwall - wasn't part of the promo when I signed up and also did a bit of research and hope to get it, but maybe over next few years. Arden Developments 1325Sep 06, 2017 9:32 pm Thanks to everyone for compliments. We love the house and are happy we went with Arden - mainly as we feel like we have a customised designed house that other builders wouldn't let us modify for. The quality is great too. Allot of credit goes to our SS and the trades he engaged.
I hope to share more pics as we decorate a bit more and compete landscaping etc. Please pm if you need details of my concreter. I look forward to see your homes, as they progress too. Good luck! Must have been 2 years ago? I know last year they started including the powerwall 1. Must have been 2 years ago? I know last year they started including the powerwall 1. Signed up last year in July. Just before powerwall came in. Be mindful the price of the homes jumped up by the powerwall cost and also they deleted some promotions (ie 36 free downlights, butlers fitout, cooling etc. to the point that you could only choose one. We did have the option to take up powerwall promotion but cost comparison didn't stack up. I'm hopeful solar battery costs come down as innovation, manufacturing efficiencies and competition grows (just like panels did years ago). Re: Arden Developments 1330Sep 06, 2017 10:43 pm Just received a report from New Home Inspections for the "Concrete Slab Pre Pour Inspection" and they have identified 13 defects. Hopefully the SS rectifies the defects before they pour the concrete. Hope, they rectify and put a good slab for you. I hope so too. The foundation is crucial. I've seen first hand when the foundation work is poor. My in-laws are in a very expensive legal battle with a custom home builder right now due to suspect foundation works. Our SS was good and took the report seriously and rectified. Now mid build our SS has changed, and the new one has been dismissive of independent inspectors in general. This a big red flag for me. Now we are stressed.
