Very similar to the T&R display in Wandi.... Love your plan
Hi bertv06, we strongly considered the TR house. But brick won over the framed house in the end. It is a beautiful house though and the decor in the display home is beautiful.

And love love love your mudroom! We have changed our theatre room from single doors either side, to a double door on one side, leaving us a recess of sorts and were planning to do something similar. We will probably do hidden cupboards there but that is just my personal preference. Yes, I noticed that on your plan. Are they going to be accessed from the living room? No. Just from the theatre. We'll probably end up putting all our movies in there... plus anything else we just want to hide!! Yippee! I'll post some pics of the brickwork once its all finished at the end of the week. I must say, communication with our CLO has been fantastic so far. Not all the news is what we want to hear but she always replies to my email queries very quickly, sometimes within an hour or 2. Hopefully it will continue this way throughout the build. Fingers crossed you get roof cover before the really wet weather sets in Thanks SB. I hope so too. They took so long with the site works, slab and getting bricks to site we really should have had the roof on ages ago. I will be very upset if the wet weather hits bad an delays the roof. Re: Building with Dale Alcock in the Perth Hills, brick stag 52May 29, 2013 10:48 pm Looks like the bricklaying has finished. The cement mixer has gone! Was so exciting walking through the house, showing the kids their rooms etc. I've got lots of photos. Not great as taken with my phone. Not sure what is interesting to anyone else so ill post them all! Didn't get every room. Tracyw Roof timbers delivered this morning. For the 1st time in my life I wish it wasnt a public holiday on Monday. Weather is forecast to be sunny and I would rather the roof being started than a public holiday!! Well you never know they might just surprise you, I had workers turn up to my build on a public holiday - Re: Building with Dale Alcock in the Perth Hills, Bricks don 56May 30, 2013 6:59 pm Ha ha SD, I think I would die of shock if I saw any work done over the weekend! Just had 2 issues resolved today. We measured the recess in the dining room yesterday and it was 25mm out. It's very important this is correct as we are getting flatpack cupboards put in there. The SS came back very quick today to say it will be rectified. We have also had a problem with our larder. We are paying a ridiculous amount just to have cavity sliders open up this area. Reason being as we see this as being open most of the time and we didnt want doors in the way. However, since planning, the builder kept coming back with smaller and smaller doors. We were at the point of just removing them as it was costing so much for something which we weren't really happy with. Managed to tweak it a bit so that our open is now roughly 1400mm. Happy again:) My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Building with Dale Alcock in the Perth Hills, Bricks don 57May 31, 2013 2:11 pm Brickwork looks great It's also great to hear that they are resolving issues so promptly Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Building with Dale Alcock in the Perth Hills, Bricks don 58May 31, 2013 2:34 pm Thanks SB. Our CLO is excellent in getting back to us promptly. Our larder issue is resolved and it ended up meaning a $1000 credit and a door we like better. One thing which has disappointed me about our builder is that they don't seem to think outside the box on issues. In this example, it wasn't until I had called the manufacturer myself and found out our different options that we could do it a different way. I would have hoped that the builder would have suggested this instead, and as a bonus it's a cheaper option. There have been a few issues like this where it was my husband and I who thought of a solution to bring down the costs for a similar outcome etc. Not sure if all builders are like this? My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Building with Dale Alcock in the Perth Hills, Bricks don 59May 31, 2013 3:07 pm I think that is pretty standard across the project builders unfortunately. The seem to have their preferred ways of doing things and don't really like it when you want something different. There have been a few issues like this where it was my husband and I who thought of a solution to bring down the costs for a similar outcome etc. Not sure if all builders are like this? I'm afraid it is, well in our case anyhow. We had same issue with our pantry door. Took a few weeks to sort but we went from 2 x 720, then 620 and now 520 doors, very disappointing. We were also told we couldn't have cavity sliders but have since found out they are now offering them to new clients. This was just one of the things that have been happening and I'm finding like you that they don't think outside the box at all. It's all too hard it seems. We had awful CLOs with DAH a few years ago but on the other hand we had pretty much no dramas with the build, complete opposite this time. Good luck with your build, the end product will be awesome and their after sales service is faultless.
