Quick one... (With reference to PD) A. I am presuming that the "Customer Service Co-Ordinator" and the "Site Supervisor" are two separate people and functions B. When (as the owner/financier) do we get to meet this "Site Supervisor"? C. Can they be paid off / Bribed to do a better job? (Joking...but seriously ) D. Who do they (the Building inspector work for)? are they independent? Thanks all. HomeOne Rocks my socks off! regards Bernie, Best regards Bernie Built in Victoria Porter Davis Montedon Final Contract Signed.. Land Settled..... Building Started.... Morgan born.... Re: Customer Service Co-ordinator V's Site Supervisor 2Apr 23, 2008 10:30 pm A CSC/CSR is a glorified secretary that will be your communications point to Porter Davis office. All general enquiries are made through this person. This is also the person you will be singing your contract with.
The Site supervisor will only present themselves once the files goes to construction and works begins (about 2.5 weeks later). This person deals with the contractors and is your go between for getting problems fixed. Thats all I know... HomeOne Rocks my socks off! regards Bernie, I can only say for who I built with (Simonds), but I would imagine it would be similar for PD The customer service rep is generally your main contact and should be your first port of call for any issues regarding the construction of your new home.. they are the ones that are located at a desk and do all the administrative and probably will never lay eyes on your site! . On the other hand is the building supervisor they oversee all the tradespeople and ensure your home is built on budget and on time. I met our supervisor a few weeks before construction started and also met with him a few times during the construction stage, and with our supervisor I actually didn't give him anything to bribe him... looking back perhaps I should have at certain times and definitely not at other times!!! The building inspector is the member who issues the building permit, generally they work for your local council or can be an independent office- in in other words the building inspector does not work for the builder. Hope that makes sence!! Re: Customer Service Co-ordinator V's Site Supervisor 4Apr 24, 2008 12:09 am Quote: A. I am presuming that the "Customer Service Co-Ordinator" and the "Site Supervisor" are two separate people and functions Correct - as said in a previous post, CSC is your contact with PD from an admin, tender and contract point of view. Site Supervisor is the on-site contact responsible for building the house. Quote: B. When (as the owner/financier) do we get to meet this "Site Supervisor"? Normally after the construction starts - you will get the contact details once you have a start date. Feel free to call him. If you wait for him to call you, you might be in frame stage - they don't call unless there's a specific need to in most cases. Quote: C. Can they be paid off / Bribed to do a better job? (Joking...but seriously ) Quote: D. Who do they (the Building inspector work for)? are they independent? If you mean the quality inspection mob, they are independent company calls BSS. Search for BSS on our blog and you will find some contact details. Cheers Re: Customer Service Co-ordinator V's Site Supervisor 5Apr 24, 2008 6:44 pm Thanks everyone for your responses.
