Any issues? My walk through got cancelled Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1585Aug 31, 2016 8:14 pm Yes got the keys on Thursday. Not the happy ending that I was so very much hoping for will PM you. Landscaping started this week and had to call the cops on my crazy neighbour, she was in fine form and threatened to run the guys over with her car!! Well at least it's always interesting !! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1586Aug 31, 2016 9:39 pm Sambree no reasons for given. I think it was cancelled because alot of things was still needed to be completed Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1588Sep 12, 2016 3:26 pm Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum! I have decided to do a KDR with Kurmond Homes. I already paid the $2000 which was for the surveyor to come to my property. I have already provided the head office with all the paperwork with 149(2)(5), etc. I was told that head office had already booked the surveyor and would be in contact with me within a week or so. I was wondering how long does the surveyor get back to you after the booking? and what happens after the survey? does KH be in contact with you? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1589Sep 23, 2016 11:05 am It’s a nightmare! I have been building my house last 2years… Signed the contract front of director Michael and he promised that building work will commence 4-6weeks from DA approval and also he fake-promised that he is available for any escalation. But it took 10months to commence construction, I tried to reach him many times but never came online. Worst and unprofessional OFFICE staffs (Client Service officers (CSO), drafting manager, and supervisor) –lack of planning, communication and zero customer care. They don’t have any definite plan or timeline, timeline goes as they go. Supervisor can’t promise or give a timeline when I can get my home? Every time when I shout… the only DEFAULT answer from them “We build quality home”. Until I move in I don’t know what their definition for “Quality Home” is! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1590Sep 24, 2016 11:50 pm I was planning to build with these guys and paid $1500 for a custom design and build two years ago. Due to some delay with my land, I had to delay the process. When I was ready I went and met the director and he said the process has changed withing 9 months and that what I paid was no longer valid and I have to pay $5000 for a custom design and build. I told him to have my 1500 as a gift and walked out. I don't regret it. Unfortunately the mob that I decided to go with wasn't a good decision either, but I fell for their sweet talk. Ses78 had long delay with his build as well. 18/03/15 Deposit 02/09/15 CDC 22/09/15 Slab 05/12/15 Frames 15/12/15 Brick started. 11/04/16 Roof start 04/05/16 Roof finish 09/07/16 Gyprock. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1591Sep 27, 2016 6:58 pm Sounds like the same old news Rickym. first home 2, sorry to hear that the building community all seems to be the same no matter where you go.hoping you both finish on a positive. A month past handover and still trying to get everything fixed up before moving in.... it never ends. Not one part of the process has been easy, although we are told that things are different now with their new customers haha!! We didn't even get our handover gift, I'm guessing only the non complaining customers get these??!! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1593Sep 28, 2016 10:44 pm unfortunately all the excitement of building a new home has gone. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1596Oct 12, 2016 10:05 pm hi all, we have been in our new home for 10 months and all the stress and frustration was worth it. Loving my home. Some tips for those getting close to handover. Check your walls & ceilings in different light. We had many nail heads visible but only in at certain times of day, paintwork left a little to be desired as well, very patchy in places. All in all we are happy with our new home. There were issues after handover but these were rectified upon submitting my list. Ses_78 omg! seems like your build took even longer than ours, granted we had issues with the knock down as well.. How is it now, are you happy with the end result? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1597Oct 19, 2016 6:00 pm Hi Loks, well we finished the way we started and travelled through this whole adventure, with stress and disappointment:(. There was a plumbing issue which left a shower over flowing and the water with nowhere to go... until we discovered that it was dripping through the pantry ceiling. It has so far been fixed twice with lots of complaining on my behalf, hopefully it's fixed. The 90 day maintenance is nearly up and we have not been able to move in KH did not provide all certificates for the occ cert and I have only just received the final one this week. The paint was like yours, extremely patchy, we had three lots of painters in post handover to patch and patch and patch. The list goes on but that's for another day, so not a happy ending. Oh and we never got a handover gift which I know seems a little petty to be complaining about...what did you get??? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1598Oct 19, 2016 6:23 pm hahaha handover gift??? what's that? OC was not provided until 6 weeks after we moved in, KH could not get the paperwork right for us either. I sat in the office for well over an hour before I would pay the final amount as they didn't have that right either. They were trying to charge me for 2x doors on the same doorway. They tried to hurry us through the final inspection but I was having none of that either. Thankfully no major plumbing or electrical issues, I did have to wait 4 months for the water meter to be replaced. The nightmare is now over Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1599Jan 19, 2017 2:41 pm Hi.... if there is anyone still out there, how are your driveways in the rain? Every time it rains I have someone fall over and am worried that someone is going to really do some damage! I am post handover, post 90 days, who do I complain to?? How do I fix the problem??
