Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1341Nov 18, 2015 6:38 pm My handover is booked for this Friday there still a bit to be done , meeting ss tomorrow on site to go through everything again before handover How are things going big mama are you booked for handover yet, loks any updates on your pci House for mouses think our SS is trying to finish us both up at the same time lol Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1342Nov 18, 2015 7:17 pm Wow everyone is still really dragging on hopefully someone gets a rocket up their butt soon and gets a move on Houses for mouses.... We are kinda being ignored by everyone at the moment as no one wants to talk about the retaining wall mistake, so once we have regained any line of communication again I will suss out the inspection. I have although just hired a independent inspector. I have been going back and forth for months about getting one or not. I had finally decided not to worry when the retaining wall was built in the wrong spot, so I thought it would be better to be safe than sorry for specially as nothing has gone very smoothly so far at all. 2nd week and still no one on site Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1343Nov 19, 2015 4:32 pm EK1976 SS rang today PCI booked for Monday want's to handover following week. Still a lot to be done, carpet, some painting, lights in kitchen and some smaller items. Driveway is booked for mid next week. Fingers crossed for an accurate timeline but I'm not holding my breath. Seems to be a go slow at the moment for everyone. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1344Nov 19, 2015 5:32 pm Met the new SS today, he went through the house to check on everything and found that a door frame has been left out when the framing was done, he also couldn't understand why the brickies weren't there as they should have been. He couldn't get in contact with them ( not a good sign!) he seems to be on the ball so hopefully he will get things moving along cause things are moving very slowly still. Oh and he said that lock up would definitely NOT be by Xmas which is where we were supposed to be at apparently. So now it is looking like we won't be finished by Easter anymore!!!!!!.... Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1349Nov 21, 2015 6:05 am Thanks ses78, quach128, aneethas..... We're just some additional cabinetry to done this week and flooring for the bedrooms and then we can move in... Quach128' I will still hang around to see how you are all getting along... Last words lol.... Don't worry about the little things/cosmetic things to be done they all can be fixed... The end product is just beautiful, the team at kurmond pulled everything together without any fuss, all the delays are forgotten as soon as you get the keys lol... My house was suppose to take 4 months to build and it took 7.5 months, but it's all good because everything is beautiful and such good quality finishes. I promise pics when I finish the cabinetry and flooring. Would love the details if you could PM. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1354Nov 22, 2015 8:05 pm When has everyone started their official build countdown? We were told the 36 weeks then 42 weeks, I just want to know where I should actually start counting the weeks from. (It's now 110 weeks from when this 'journey' began!!!!)
Is it when the fence goes up (33 weeks already), when the site has been scraped (20 weeks already) etc etc....??? Being a KDRB does it start when the house has been demolished?? Ps hope everyone had a good weekend Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1355Nov 22, 2015 8:15 pm Ses_78 should be from the construction commencement letter date. Doesn't mean they will complete in this time though, there are all sorts of clauses i.e. weather that allow them to pretty much finish whenever Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1357Nov 22, 2015 8:33 pm Having said that it looks like we will be exactly at our 36 weeks providing they get everything done in the next couple of weeks like they are telling me. Received PC invoice and settlement invoice Friday, considering we have not yet had PCI inspection they are a bit premature I think Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 76061 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
