Times certainty flies Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1482Jun 12, 2014 7:35 pm Exactly right Pooks, i am keen to see what your liaison says. How did you go with the dirt by the way, did you end up getting enough to cover your back yard? Thanks Niccles, looking forward to seeing some pics of yours. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1483Jun 12, 2014 8:09 pm that's a tad worrying about the SS not returning your phone calls pooks. Hes so good during construction. Blog: http://dandesbuild.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1487Jun 13, 2014 8:25 am Morning everyone - just a bit of quick news from me - we've completed Lock Up Stage! So now I'm onto Fixing Stage, I suppose? From Pooks' signature, I can see that took about 13 days (which would put me at June 24) and then 47 days later New Home Presentation (which would put me at August 10). All this is assuming there are no problems. It's getting so real now! I better start REALLY packing seriously - not just the easy bits and bobs I have around. From another post, I see I should expect: - Plasterboard Installation - Waterproofing Wet Areas - Carpentry First Fix (kitchen cupboards / bathroom vanities installed, skirting boards / architraves / internal window sills) - Baths, basins, sinks, shower trays, laundry troughs installed - Tiling Is that about right? I know someone said 6 weeks from tiling is a good rule of thumb to figure out completion date. 19.03.14 - Land Settlement 15.04.14 - Building Permit 28.04.14 - Earthworks 14.05.14 - Slab Stage 20.05.14 - Frame Stage 11.06.14 - Lock Up Stage 03.07.14 - Fix Stage 15.08.14 - New Home Presentation Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1488Jun 13, 2014 11:02 am Congrats on lock up Gaviscon! Yep, so now you are fixing stage. The plaster is will be completed, skirting and architraves. All your cabinetry will go in, kitchen, bathroom, ensuite and laundry. When the painters started we were invoiced. Once painting is completed. The waterproofing and tiler will start. Our tiler has finished and we've been told 4-6 weeks to completion Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1489Jun 13, 2014 11:43 am Congrats GG and Niccles...we have just got past lockup last week and this week our kitchen cabinets are going in...will do an update 2moro once I visit 9/4/14-Site Start 9/5/14-Slab 16/5/14-Frame 21/5/14-Roof 31/5/14-Bricks 6/6/14-Plaster 14/6/14-Fixing 19/7/14 -Flooring 8/8/14 - Keys http://newnestinmelbourne.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1490Jun 13, 2014 12:31 pm Ohhhhhhh Our land has titled!! Can't wait to see completion. The SS called (the liaison lady has a rocket!) and he basically said to write everything down and they will fix it all at the 12 month inspection as the house is still settling so more things might change prior to then as well...I guess that makes sense. Although he is checking on our lawn next week, apparently it's self levelling lawn so he will monitor it...yep. Something else I have discovered though which you should check Ruby- the window frame in the master bedroom has slits in it! I was wondering why it was so cold in there...I've just checked the other windows and they don't have it. Even though there is a plastic seal on the inside, it's not fixed to the frame on the bottom...kinda like a breezeway- hard to explain! The first pic is the outside of the window, the second is the inside...any advice or why this would be here? I didn't check our bath and then noticed it only trickles out about a week after moving in. I have back and forth text messages with the SS and still havent heard from the plumber plus we have an outside light that was never installed that they are still yet to come and fix. I am about to email my client liaison :/ So annoying cos I loved our SS and I feel like I'm going behind his back but at this point I just want to use my freaking bath!! At the other end of the window frame where we have placed tape over it you can look through the gap (it's way bigger) and see the render!! Hayles!!!!!! How did the move go? How are you liking your new pad? I felt like I was going behind their back too but now I don't care because the SS and liaison said we could contact both. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1496Jun 13, 2014 6:15 pm Congrats on the land titling Ashman! Geez Pooks that's a wierd one with your window! You guys must have been freezing. I'm glad your SS finally called. Wait till 12 months? Isn't there like a 3 month inspection? Or don't HBC do that? Hayles sorry to hear about your plumbing for the bath. If we struggle to get onto the SS after handover, I'd be emailing our client liason. Thanks for the tip with water pressure at PCI too. I'm going to call our SS tomorrow to book in a walk through next week. My dad thinks I should be all over them at this point. Did anyone else have regular meetings with their SS?
