Might need to contact head office again and get this sorted. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1822Aug 18, 2014 7:42 pm Apparition...we also paid around 900ish to get NBN and by the time i moved in, everything was connected and our NBN was working from Day 1.... HBC arranged NBN installs even for me before i moved in.... 9/4/14-Site Start 9/5/14-Slab 16/5/14-Frame 21/5/14-Roof 31/5/14-Bricks 6/6/14-Plaster 14/6/14-Fixing 19/7/14 -Flooring 8/8/14 - Keys http://newnestinmelbourne.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1823Aug 18, 2014 7:52 pm That is awesome, running 2 online business we kinda need the internet so it's a bit stressful Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1824Aug 19, 2014 1:34 pm For the record, I also paid about $900 for the basic NBN package. I don't expect to need anything further for NBN Co to hook me up and then Foxtel. So! I signed the Practical Completion Authority and sent it in yesterday. Bank valuers were at the property this morning at 10:15 am. Seeing I'm with Bluebay, when should I expect to get the keys? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1830Aug 20, 2014 9:28 pm Was just reading our soil report and it's saying for us not to put a garden near the house and recommending that we concrete on a angle away from the house for about a meter. Is this normal or is my soil that bad? Was planning to have a small garden at the front under our bedroom window. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1831Aug 20, 2014 9:34 pm I take it your soil is Class P? Clay & silt? Mine is too. I wouldn't be putting a garden up against the house. I changed my landscaping so I could eventually pave an apron around the house. Will have to wait a few months, but I think it would be worth taking the engineers' advice on this one. 19.03.14 - Land Settlement 15.04.14 - Building Permit 28.04.14 - Earthworks 14.05.14 - Slab Stage 20.05.14 - Frame Stage 11.06.14 - Lock Up Stage 03.07.14 - Fix Stage 15.08.14 - New Home Presentation Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1832Aug 21, 2014 6:46 pm Apparition Was just reading our soil report and it's saying for us not to put a garden near the house and recommending that we concrete on a angle away from the house for about a meter. If you have highly reactive soil it's worth reading some of the posts about slab heave.Always best to keep soil moisture even around the perimeter of your house.Sloped concrete apron is a good idea maybe plant pots will work instead. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1833Aug 23, 2014 12:30 pm Hi all! Long time reader first time poster we've just been handed over to construction Wednesday gone and I wanted to ask if any if you got your own private inspectors to use on top of the homebuyers one? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1834Aug 23, 2014 3:38 pm Hi Jrock! Welcome! I got an inspection done for frame stage. They struggled to pick up anything at all. In retrospect, I didn't need one but it bought me peace of mind, which at the time I was low on. AND! GOOD NEWS! We got the keys yesterday! So in love with my house! I'm having a bite to eat and I can't believe I'm in public looking like this, but who cares? I own a house! 19.03.14 - Land Settlement 15.04.14 - Building Permit 28.04.14 - Earthworks 14.05.14 - Slab Stage 20.05.14 - Frame Stage 11.06.14 - Lock Up Stage 03.07.14 - Fix Stage 15.08.14 - New Home Presentation Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1836Aug 24, 2014 8:43 pm Gaviscon Girl AND!
