Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3921Jun 13, 2016 4:55 pm I signed my PWC last night. It feels a lot more real now!!! I went to head office and had a look at their show room. It provided a good insight on what's included. I'm thinking I am mixing two internal themes and external themes. We got 4K allowance in my PWC for my colour appointment, hopefully this covers everything haha. I have posted a few photos. However, they aren't good photos. I'm glad I took them though for reference as the photos you get in your folder aren't good at all and look nothing like the themes in person. Opted for the custom appointment as well. Do they allow us to juggle items in the PWC variations? In the sense, If I wanted to remove some item and move the money to a carpet upgrade, is that allowed? Yes, we removed the heating option and carpet, and were able to use the credits from that to upgrade our flooring, add extra doors, a walk in pantry, kitchen appliances etc Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3926Jun 14, 2016 4:29 pm Giridharanb, when you go for the custom appointment, will you be paying the $ 500 upfront. The pre-work folder has a page stating you need to pay $500 if you want to customise your floors, cupboards etc. Any infor on this? If you choose not to go for one of the colour themes, and choose every item yourself and form your own theme you'll need to pay $500. We chose a theme and made a few small changes (changed the colour of the floors, benches and splash back) and they didn't charge us for it. If you can, I would recommend going to the centre before your appointment. We went the week prior so we could wander around at our leisure and write lists of things to query. We didn't need to make an appointment and they just left us alone. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was empty. puglover Atherbogan Giridharanb, when you go for the custom appointment, will you be paying the $ 500 upfront. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3937Jun 15, 2016 8:27 pm choocha Hi everyone Our land has been delayed titling Now they say it will be late July or early august. Hey puglover your house looks great now. Congratulations Ugh delayed titling is so irritating. Ours way delayed by nine months, we were sooooo irritated. AND GOOD NEWS - my house is FINISHED! My SS called me today and said that all the defects from the Inspection Report have been rectified, and our Final Walk Through is Friday. Straight afterwards I have to hoon from Cranbourne to Docklands to meet with my client liaison and do the handover!!! Then Saturday is MOVE IN DAY! This is of course all dependent on the bank releasing the cheque to me tomorrow - if they don't this whole plan falls over. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3939Jun 17, 2016 10:20 am Finished our pre-start and contract signing yesterday. A whole 6 hours of non-stop work. Our consultant was very good and patient. Explained all the queries around the contract patiently and allowed us time to process the answers. Did not rush us into it. The fun part was with colors. We chose from the themes and made small changes to a couple of items. We were not charged 500 dollars for this customization. All in all, we came pretty satisfied with our selections. Final contract is now drawn up and shared with us yesterday evening. Another mini-milestone crossed. Next item is a meeting with Resolve on Tuesday to work through the finance application and waiting for the pre-approvals and initial valuations. That will be a nervous wait.
