I think it took us about 10 weeks but that was across Christmas too Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4345Oct 28, 2016 8:00 am Coolc What colour themes you guys selected ? Are they allow us to do few changes within themes ? ( 1-2 ) Any photos ? Thanx We've gone with the Sandstone colour theme externally and Harvest internally. We didn't ask about colour changes as we were happy with the schemes. They did offer to swap the front door from the dark colour (same as the garage door) to a light colour (matching the fascia) which we accepted and actually prefer. I believe they pretty much had to do this as the door manufacturer won't warrant their door if it's painted a dark colour against warping. For the internal colours we were of the opinion that while it's our forever home keeping it basic for now and in at least colours we like will mean the building costs are lower. We're not the type of people who have exacting decor colour matching requirements, we're more on team "the floor is dark timber, the carpet won't show up the cat fur and the walls are some kind of white". That said we do want real timber floor boards in the house long term but that was $8K more than we were willing to spend right now given we have our first child rocking up sometime in December. The laminate and carpet will probably need replacing due to wear in 10 years time, we'll do it the right way then. We were thinking about Storm theme but don't like the colour of grout in splash back and tiles in wet areas are bit darker in that theme. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4347Oct 28, 2016 8:21 am Coolc Thank you... Congratulations on your baby. We were thinking about Storm theme but don't like the colour of grout in splash back and tiles in wet areas are bit darker in that theme. Thanks! I honestly couldn't tell you what colour our grout is One thing we did find was that the colors do look different on the paperwork in the book to what they actually are in real life. From an exterior perspective we found it really useful to drive around one of the new estates where they are building and have a look at the real thing, your sales rep may be able to help you with finding a house near you that you could drive past. On the interior colours we were able to organise a quick drop into the Homebuyers offices in the Docklands when we were in seeing Resolve about finance which gave us a little bit of time (15-20 mins maybe) to walk around the selections to get an idea of the colours and textures in the flesh. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4348Oct 28, 2016 8:25 am Hi everyone just wondering if anyone has built the Aspect 22 or Eureka 22 with Homebuyers Centre Vic. We are about to start building in the west of Melbourne but are getting anxious to see what the final product looks like. If anyone can share photos or info that would be so amazing. How have you found the build any dramas so far? is your SS a good communicator? If you have any photos of the frame we would be so thankful. Cos its off the plan we have been trying to get a mental image and idea of height etc. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4351Oct 28, 2016 9:04 am Manchestergrove Hi everyone just wondering if anyone has built the Aspect 22 or Eureka 22 with Homebuyers Centre Vic. Hi manchestorgrove With Storm theme are those colours in the book any deferent when you see them in colour room ? Hey Coolc, No they are the same well with our book and what they showed us. The facade was Marble color scheme and that had a change of roofcolor from monolith to surfmist so white instead of black and luckily it was picked up when we went through everything. I think def make sure on the day that everything is matching and correct. We missed out on a couple of things we wanted as we just ran out of time etc. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4354Oct 28, 2016 9:25 am Atherbogan Manchestergrove Hi everyone just wondering if anyone has built the Aspect 22 or Eureka 22 with Homebuyers Centre Vic. We are really excited tho and hopefully no dramas with the build. We went the Aspect 22 and cant wait to see the frame and size of rooms. It is kinda full on when there is no display or blog to see what the house is like and make the decision off the plan. I hope you build is really great and we have our fingers crossed they get ours right. In saying that we have built with them before and the finished product was nearly perfect. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4357Oct 28, 2016 10:17 am Did you raise your ceiling size. I like HBC and their building quality but i was so disappointed to know that the ceiling they show in their display homes is not the same as the standard inclusion ones. I only found out last week and now HBC are giving me the its too late line as its a structural change. I have told them that since they havent started building nothing is too late, still waiting to hear from the manager. Fingers crossed they raise it to display home level which is 2560 cm Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4358Oct 28, 2016 10:26 am Atherbogan Did you raise your ceiling size. But yes we changed the ground and first floor to 2590 as it is a small house and room sizes arent massive so we thought will get head space instead Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4359Oct 28, 2016 10:37 am Manchestergrove Atherbogan Did you raise your ceiling size. Am i right ? Your correct unless the cooling off period is still in effect. I think if you try it after that there is a huge fee it would state the amount in contract but no one wants to pay 10 or 20 percent without the house being built. Its very hard as if there is something you really really want and cant have how much is that worth later on....... in saying that I am never building again it has stressed us out ....... I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be. Shared equity in your home is never a good idea.
