You would of paid it before getting your building permit? I had to. After the amount of money they are taking already...sorry to say, I wasn't subject to that cost. Good on you for contacting the GM...I love the "break glass in case of emergency" hehe. Worth a shot, let's see how quick he responds. I'll give him a ring as well tomorrow. Pretty sure $768 is just mere change for them. Our slab was poured last week and when I did a quick visit today, guys are placing the frames..hopefully the frames will be up by the EOW. Meantime, I was thinking that it wud b good to have the Internet point where my tv is going to be connected. As of now, these 2 are going to be in 2 diff rooms...should I talk to my SS and see if this can be done without involving or HBC? or should I just use a powerline adapter incase if requirement arises? 9/4/14-Site Start 9/5/14-Slab 16/5/14-Frame 21/5/14-Roof 31/5/14-Bricks 6/6/14-Plaster 14/6/14-Fixing 19/7/14 -Flooring 8/8/14 - Keys http://newnestinmelbourne.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1185May 13, 2014 1:30 pm bkoolrocks Hi all... Couldn't hurt to ask your SS, it's would be easier to do it through him, if he's cool with it rather than HBC where it sounds like everything is a no. Lol. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1186May 13, 2014 4:35 pm I would ask the SS too bkoolrocks- the worst he can say is no! So...I have had a stressful day! We were due to have the occupancy certificate last week to ensure collecting keys this week wouldn't be a problem so I didn't have to cancel various bookings I had for the new house. It didn't come through so I sent a pleading email to our construction consultant yesterday in the hope of fast tracking only to get an auto email back to say she was away!!!! So after a sleepless night last night (I know, it's my own fault) I received an email at 8:30am this morning to say she has the certificate (it arrived yesterday when she was away sick). So she said she was just waiting on accounts to finalise everything to send the final invoice to the bank...I heard from her two hours later to say it's been sent to the bank. So I sent a pleading email to the bank...I figured I haven't asked them for anything or hurried them at any point so why not try! I got an email from the bank lady with the progress payment form to sign (yes!!) and a request for an Insurance Currancy certificate for home and contents. I thought this might happen so I already had a quote number saved with AAMI, I have them a call, paid over the phone and had the certificate emailed to me by the time the call finished. I forwarded that to the bank with the signed progress authority form about an hour ago and said it was all good and she has requested an urgent valuation on the house. So now I wait for the rep for Bluebay to organise a walk through with my SS and for the money to clear. I still don't think it will happen this week but it won't be too far away now! So stressful!! Good news was that there was $1300 left over in our loan funds so that is being deposited to our personal account to spend as we wish (going on dirt and turf for the back). Sorry about the essay but at least you know what's coming up while I'm flying blind Build Permit-17/12/13 Earthworks-13/1/14 Slab-30/1/14 Frame-10/2/14 Lock Up-7/3/14 Fixing Stage Complete-20/3/14 New Home Presentation-6/5/14 Moved in 17/5/14! Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1189May 13, 2014 10:58 pm Hope you get everything sorted out Pooks! So happy for you. Not long to go now! Talk about stress for today. I, too, had a very stressful one. Someone called me, but not the GM, to discuss about the price protection payment "issue" we had. They are adamant that we pay it. Just a bit disappointed why all of these costs are popping up when we are about to build now. To top it all off, my husband had severe toothache so I had to rush him to the dentist and guess what - he needs two root canals done!!! Unbelievable! Anyway, hope the rest of you had a better day than me! I have literally read through everypost and am a little trepadatious moving forward. Obviously the $3000 deposit is a major attraction for myself as I am wanting to get into the market. I apologise in advance can anyone tell me what the repayments will be like on a monthly basis once settlement goes through? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1191May 14, 2014 8:52 am Hi jazz40, welcome!! As you will be able to tell from our posts- the $3000 is outlay at the beginning and there are a few more things along the way on a 210k piece of land my repayments have been about $1300 per month (from the time land settled to when the house started). Progress payments on the house build has obviously increased it. Now that I'm at the end it's about $2300...but only $50 more a week than my rent!!!
