My new homes consultant didn't tell me you can put an allowance in had I known I would have esp to the nice extras. Having said that though when the bank values the build it it might come under the contract price so if you don't have the extra cash your allowances and upgrades will be the firstborn to go. Where are you building and what are you building? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4814May 21, 2017 10:08 am We recently had our 12 month warrant check. Minor issues have been rectified, still waiting on some issues with concreting to be addressed - extensive cracking and crumbling of driveway and major cracking down side of home. Hoping to be rectified soon and will update regarding outcomes. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4815May 22, 2017 10:11 am Everything was fixed apart from the tiles, so my site manger is meant to be getting that done today. As for waiting for the bank I'm not sure how long the valuation takes but I'm hoping its done before friday so i can have the keys before the weekend. has anyone gone with commbank ? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4816May 22, 2017 12:02 pm i have a question regarding Darbecca, i have finally bit the bullet and engaged them from pre-plaster stage and the rest going forward. how does it work? does work stop until we get their report and defects are fixed? my SS was very unhappy with me engaging them, he said i didnt tell them i would be engaging an inspector and he had booked everything so this will disrupt them. What can i do to minimise any disruption and avoid any more grumpiness from my SS. From others who have commented, it sounds like defects are either fixed there and then if they are small or agreed to be fixed and proof of corrective actions sent through. I know that I'd love to point out to an SS who's complaining that you've brought in a third party inspector that if he'd done his job right in the first place it wouldn't be happening, but in reality, I'd hold my tongue I'd probably say the best people to answer the question about reducing disruptions would be Darbecca, if the work is done correctly in the first place it shouldn't cause much disruption to their schedule anyway. Hopefully knowing they have an inspector looking over their shoulder will naturally force the work quality to be better!! Best of luck with the next stages! It doesn't matter what your SS say.As long as you give them 48 hours notice prior to inspection they must open up for them to inspect. Its law.Good move on getting Darbecca Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4819May 22, 2017 8:56 pm Taylahlee Everything was fixed apart from the tiles, so my site manger is meant to be getting that done today.
