Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 23, 2013 8:07 pm Hi Everyone I'm a first time poster here (but I've a read this site so many times for help). We're building with Masterton, the "Urban". We are using the classic facade "classic" and we need to have our colour selection by tomorrow. We still have not decided. Originally we were going with "Metropolis Marcastle" from Austral, but we saw this brick in the rain and it seemed to soak up the water like a sponge, so it looked terrible. We then looked at other bricks, and found the "Mild Steel" brick from PGH. We liked this brick and have seen it on a range of homes already. We chose Barramundi tiles from PGH, a wooden front door, Colorbond "Woodland Grey" for the fascia, gutter and down pipes, and Colorbond "Dune" for the garage doors. We were also considering "Dune" for the windows. We were happy with this, until we realised that Masterton use Dowell windows, not Colorbond. As we are in NSW, there is no match directly for Colorbond "Dune" but there is for "Woodland Grey". So we don't know whether to a) Go for a completely different colour or b) The darker "Woodland Grey" on the windows or c) Use the closest match for "Dune" or d) Pay to upgrade to "Dune" or e) Use another colour completely? (Possibly change the colours of the whole house). I was wondering what do you guys think is the best way to solve this problem? Hopefully we will be able to speak to the people at Dowell tomorrow, and see some of their windows. Thanks Michael Re: Masterton External Colour Selection 2May 15, 2013 12:50 pm I would recommend to hire a colour co-ordinator to give you ideas and possibly a image look of what they will look like.
