Browse Forums Building A New House Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS!!! 143Dec 01, 2013 9:48 pm House is looking great had a ** peak through the windows when we took the kids to the new park for a play.. Lucky we didn't find the open door or you would of turned up when we were inside lol Actually we wouldn't of been cheeky enough to go inside it looks too much like an actual house now rather than a building site so we would of chickened out Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 144Dec 04, 2013 4:16 pm So most things are progressing well except one major hitch... In our prestart we picked 'Sand Drift' for our tiles. When we had our lock up meeting late last week we noticed they look quite different to how we remember. The one we picked is more of a light creamy/sandy colour but the ones laid are the same texture but more of a grey/white colour. We ended up taking a left over one and going to Crosby and noticed there is actually 2 different variations of this tile - 'Sand Drift 13' and 'Sand Drift 15'. The 13 is the one we picked and after going through our prestart photos this is the one on there, however we matched up the one we had an it was an exact to the 15. Crosby ended up going to our house and having a look but are denying there is any mistake, saying it is just a typo and they are the same tile they are just different as they are from different cooks, however that is a load of cr@p as they are 2 completely different shades. We went to the builder but they have spoken to Crosby and just said the same thing that due to them being cooked in a kiln they cannot guarantee the colour. We understand that bit what no one has answered or accepts to aknowledge is why there is a '13' and '15' version and why we ended up with one variation of this without being asked as it was just noted for us to have 'Sand Drift'. We are waiting on an email response but it is very frustrating and we do not know what chances we will have of getting anywhere with this Such a shame as most of the build to date has gone pretty well. Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 145Dec 04, 2013 6:50 pm Sorry to hear about your issues with the tiles, when we went to see Crosby tiles originally we actually did not like the way they treated us either, they basically told us our taste was crap and we should go with what their designer says. Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 146Dec 04, 2013 9:47 pm oh no! I'd persist though, colour may varies between batches but won't be of completely different colour :/ We didn't like crosby either, we're ignored a couple of times, and when I asked question (probably a stupid question!), the woman almost rolled her eyes, gave me a quick/unhelpful answer and walked away without asking if we had further questions. Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 147Dec 16, 2013 1:19 pm So we had our PCI last week and had a building inspector come and wasn't any major issues which we were happy with Just waiting on a key handover date but will be this week. The tile saga continues... Crosby are denying any responsibility for the tiles and still refuse to answer why there are two versions of this sand drift tile. Celebration Homes are also refusing to do anything about it as they are just blaming it on Crosby Tiles, a complete nightmare! Anyway after chasing it up twice with CH and not getting anywhere we have spoken to the building commission who then referred us to consumer affairs and they have told us we have a legitimate case. We told CH this on Friday which got a different reaction so we will see if anything now gets done about it. Either way it would need to be done after key handover but this whole thing dragging on is a pain as it is hard for us to give other trades concrete dates on when they can start Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 148Dec 19, 2013 12:42 am Sure doesn't sound like a great situation, hope things get sorted for you. You'll be surprised how getting a third party involved often means action!! It's like they are trying to see if you are serious about your complaint. It might cause you issues in the short term but if its important to you stick to your guns! I'm still arguing over our benchtop. It will be raised again at 6 month inspection and if we get no resolution ill be making a formal complaint to the building commission. Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 150Dec 22, 2013 1:10 am Hey Wildcats, That's very interesting about your tiling. We also chose sand drift, and like you when I first saw it laid...I thought it looked different to what we chose. I also have a pic of the selections from prestart. Unfortunately the number was obscured , so don't know what it was, but yes I did think it looked different. In the end I put it down too perhaps seeing a fully tiled room, versus one tile made the colour look different. But after reading about number 13 / 15 and you comparing at Crosbys...makes me wonder about my own now!! I mean we are happy with the tile colour....but I do know what you mean with the colour difference. The pic I have from prestart is that more creamy colour you described( which would be the same sample as you saw) whereas the tiles we needed up with is a bit more lighter. I don't have the photobucket thingo, but if you want to see some pix of my tiles I'm happy to email them to you. Just pm me. Do hope you get somewhere soon Re: Landsdale Corimbia Build - Celebration Homes KHO by XMAS 152Jan 07, 2014 10:05 am Hi Eddie We haven't moved in yet, the painting has just been finished and we still need to get the carpet and flooring laid, so we are moving in over the Australia Day long weekend. Can't wait!! Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 2249 Yes, i hace signed build contract and currently awaiting colour selection appointment. 2 29612 Ask for references and speak to them.
