Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 23, 2013 12:28 pm Hi all, We are due for our PCI sometime next week. Our SS mentioned he wanted everything to be perfect so if we wanted to the handover it can be on the same day. Is this possible? I mean I'm sure I'll pick up more than a few minor faults with the house and also having an inspector on the day as well. Any chance we can get the keys and if there are minor faults they can fix it after the handover? Your advice is much appreciated. Cheers Re: PCI Handover Henley Homes 2Apr 23, 2013 5:43 pm I would rather have things fixed before I move in. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: PCI Handover Henley Homes 3Apr 23, 2013 7:41 pm Wait till you arrive for PCI and find the place filthy. Or there is still tradies working on stuff making even more mess. How will you know what is right and what has been done on the cheap. Or think of all the things that will be damaged when tradies come back to fix other things that are not done right while your trying to live in it. Will it not be easier to agree to their idea that it can all be done at maintenance stage some 6 months later when you have learned to live with all the imperfections that have gotten worse cos they were not done right to begin with. See it how it pans out and you may answer your own question here. Take the final chq if you wish, just don't hand if over if you don't want to, tho the bank may have something to say about that if you are financing. We are having our PCI next Tuesday. In total it would of taken about 7 months but less Xmas and supervisor swap. The new supervisor is excellent and picked up a lot of mistakes and had to rip many things out for repair.
