Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 02, 2013 11:12 am I am completing a new rear unit and connecting telephone line with Optus. My builder has installed underground telephone line and have the one end of the telephone line just right at the front gate. Today, Optus told me that I have to ask builder to have the one end of the telephone line at other side of the road. The builder should conduct the survey and know where the telephone should be, as this a part of the plan permit. If Optus orders their contractor to do this, it will be more expensive than builder does. I requested the builder install telephone line at other side of the road but he told me only telephone company can do this. Anyone knows what the right thing I should do to connect the telephone line in my case? Re: New home's telephone connectionT 2Oct 28, 2013 8:23 am The telephone company (Optus) is responsible for cabling up to your socket. A standard installation for a Telstra line is maximum of $299 (They can charge extra for trenching on your property if you don't do it, but it sounds like your builder has done the trenching and put in conduit) and this includes any work necessary outside your property (unless you are in a remote/rural location where there may be extra charges) Optus phone lines can be delivered in one of two ways - either via their cable TV cable (which is typically overhead and connects via an aerial drop to your fascia) or by reselling Telstra copper. It sounds like you are getting the latter, in which case Optus will order the line from Telstra on your behalf and the most you should pay is $299. Is it just a report written to give to the bank initially and it is based on what and how your payments are made up for, or is it a full service where they go out and… 2 5599 Skjm You might want to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKx-bsOr2jg If that link doesn't work go to youtube and search for Zac Homes ACA I am really… 1 4020 What you are looking at is fibrous plaster, true gypsum, it is cast on horizontal beds with fibers included to give strength.
